So, amongst the majority of my friends nobody likes Tori Amos... Who really knows why.... I think she's pretty talented... She's playing in DC later this year... anyone interested in going?

Pretty much none of my friends do either... but I enjoy cranking Little Earthquakes just about as much as any other classic album I own. I've seen her 3 times... and she was great each and every!!!

^^That's funny, I saw Ryan Adams do the same thing 2 years ago. Then he wrote a song on the piano about douchebags that talk while someone is performing.
I have seen her twice and another time do a Q&A. She does put on a good show, but I am going to pass on her because her material lately has been weak. The new CD is an improvement on the one prior, but she needs to stop trying to making concept albums and just let the music speak for itself.

Ok...don't anyone tell my bf this, cause he worships her.
Buuuuttt...when we saw her in Raleigh a few years ago, her set bored me to tears. It was the worst show I've ever seen. Every single song was one I didn't know and they all were very slow and depressing.
I hate to say that because I love her and most of her music, but her show that night was very uninspiring.
i have a couple live recordings of hers and ive never really grown to love them the way ive loved the studio stuff. boys for pele would probly fit into my top 5... definetly top 10 albums of all time. of the live stuff i think she tried to improvise way to much and one of the things i loved about her albums is that the timing of every note seemed to be so exactly perfect
I really like Tori, but.... 1) That's VooDoo Fest weekend, so no go.... and 2) It's DC....I have vowed to never set foot in DC again voluntarily in this lifetime....long, hellish work-related story...
Holy crap. Just got my ticketmaser email and it shows Tori in Atlanta at the Fox Theater Nov. 14, then Regina Spektor the next night at the Tabernacle.
Guess you all know where I'll be those two nights. ;D

Man, I wish The White Stripes had done that when they recently played a special show at the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville. It was a super special show - tickets sold out immediately sooooo many people didn't get to go and they wanted to go badly. Luckily we got tickets, but unfortunately the majority of the crowd seemed like music industry people or scene-sters who had connections to get tickets and were not really there for the music. It was incredibly chatty and everyone was sure to have a Pabst in hand.
