That's cool you were there. It's always sweet when you get professional copies of shows you saw.
Like, just today, I got Trey Anastasio's new The Horseshoe Curve CD (with Vynil cause I'm a geek like that), and it included a bonus disc. This is a live EP called Lucious Beebee featuring five live cuts from 01-04. So I popped the live EP in first cause it didn't have a list of the dates of the shows that the songs were cut from. Listening to it, I was shocked to realize that of the 5 songs on the disc, I saw the first 3 of them. The only reason I know this is because I listen to those shows and know them by ear. The first was "Burlap Sack and Pumps" with John Medeski from Alpine Valley in 01. The Second was "Coming To" which was performed by the Nashville Chamber orchestra with some of TAB under the direction of Trey at Bonnaroo 2004. And the third was "Andre the Giant" from Red Rocks in 2001. Sorry to sort of steal your thread, but I had a pretty big grin when I realized that, so I know exactly where you are coming from ;-P
One of my favorite "I was there!" things, was the last ever Guided by Voices show on New Year's Eve, 2004. A great, rough, dvd that really captured the night.
the DVD is amazing...theres a part in the documentary where the talk about tripping at Reddish Knob...near the Virginia/West Virginia border and I completely freaked out cause I've tripped there before...not really that cool but it makes me smile
