Has anyone else heard of this? I had no idea what it was but I just got an email about it from LiveNation... holy effin crap what a lineup!!
Willie Nelson Neil Young Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds John Mellencamp The Allman Brothers Band Counting Crows Matisyahu Guster The Derek Trucks Band Warren Haynes ...and more!!
Looks like it's on September 9th in NYC... can anybody tell me more about this??
...I might have to plan a road trip up north for this one fellas...
Waaaah I wanna go but we have a stupid wedding to photograph that day! Happens all the time from June to October. Darn brides in darn white dresses picking kick-butt weekends to have their Special Day and all....
Been to a couple--Star Lake in Pittsburgh, Pa, Polaris Ampitheatre in Columbus, Oh. They get better and more grass rootsy every year. Can stream for free, or give ten bucks for it, if helping farmers isn't too righteous for you.
Am a Farm Aid member. They sent seeds to plant in their mailer this year. Great organization with Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, and Dave Mathews as charter members. They perform every year. Willie often plays with several of the bands. He was SPUN at last year's. Came out and played Homegrown with Neil and could barely stay focussed. It was right after his latest legal trouble.
Great show-ALWAYS. Too bad they can't let go of the LiveNation nipple and find farm properties to hold it on. Maybe bring it to the Roo grounds in years to come. That would really be something.
Good folks and cause to drop $ to. Uber Righteous. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
id love to go to this. but i refuse to go. like snoochio said why not have it on a farm?? seees like they could do alot more. but i will watch the webcast again this year.
Well let me pump you up a bit more. I just got an email from FarmAid stating that there will be a very special collaboration this year. Willie and Dave will be sitting in with Greg Allman for a special acoustic set. Sounds over the top this year. Happy for your tick purchase Beccs. I'll watch fer ya on the webcast.

I just got my ticket for this so excited...
Awesome! I want to go so bad, but it's a financial issue. I have a contact in the broker buisiness who comps me into things when I ask, but I just got two ACL tix from him and I don't like to ask for too much too often. Sometimes he just surprises me at the last moment without my asking though, so here's hoping, fingers crossed

Hey, I don't really understand this setup Whenever I've been there for festivals, it was always just an open park with a fence around it Also, if there are that many seats, where the heck is general admission???

i think its set up the same way it was set up for dave at randall's last summer - the gen admission is behind the seats but i dont think its going to be as bad as it looks on that chart...

I think Becca's right... looks almost the same. I was right up against the fence in GA last year; the sound was great, but the view sucked... nothing but DiamondVision.
Just got an email from FarmAid yesterday. Unfortunately, they are not going to simulcast the stream this year. Fortunately, it WILL be available for ONE WEEK beginning Thursday, September 13th. It WILL be available to index BY ARTIST(cool feature).
Perhaps they are responding to criticisms of other FarmAid streams where the quality has been mediocre to be kind. Maybe by holding off the webcast, and then making it available on demand, and segmented, they will achieve better quality. Here's hopin'.
Guess I gotta find a new source of entertainment for my annual FarmAid stream party !!
The webcast will also be available after it's initial week of webcasts, but you have to be a "FarmYard" member. I think you can join for as little as ten bucks and they'll send you info on the concert, give you first shot at tickets, AND send you info about farm coops and organics in your area. I've said it before, and will say it again... This is a GREAT organization to reach out and help a little! Plus Ol' Willie knows his corn !!!

im sorry - my friggin printer wont read my camera disk and i cant get the pictures off my printer and i feel SOOO yucky right now - i dont have the energry to type out a full report at the moment but here are a few observations.
1. most people cant handle more than 10 hours outside listening to music.. people cant hang! 2. john mellencamp was a dissapointment IMO 3. greg allman is legendary 4. highlights for me were dave and tim's set (im such a lucky girl having seen them already once this year at radio city), the allmans set - they did people can you feel it, and then - greg, and willie doing midnight rider, than greg , warren and dave doing melissa. damned good i say. also warren did a solo cover of One by U2 which was nice. 5.the early in the day bands including counting crows, matis and guster only got to play about 20 -30 minute sets. it was weird. 6. i learned alot about homegrown / sustainable farms and got to eat alot of free fruits and veggies, string cheese and chocolate milk from organic valley, annddd chipotle had burrito booths set up 7. there are alot of lovely, shiny people in the tri-state area ;D
