Okay, There is another thread dedicated to sts9, but I know a bunch of us are going to the STS9 shows here in NYC in september, but I want to encourage everyone in the NYC area to come out!!! We could have a mini-inforoo meetup!!! sooooOoOoOoOoOo ROLL CHECK! whose going??? i am 100% going to the friday show and not sure about the saturday show yet. ill probably end up at both tho.

Barring any major problems, count me & missus in. I've been giving her a crash course in modern (post-Bon Jovi) music lately, and she seems to adapting well. I think she may actually like this show!

^^^there are elevated movie theatre seats complete with drink holders behind the dance floor (it used to be a movie house...) the seats are usually GA unless it's the kind of band older folks go see... also, Heineken sponsors the theatre and there are at least 3 bars. Oh, there's also a history of the Nokia cell phone museum.

Dug up some pics of the interior. Looks pretty decent. Just got scared for a minute there when I saw Ticketmaster's GA seating chart (which shows rows of seats instead of a dance floor). Thanks!

i hate nokia. but ill handle it well i think i will def go to both. dont know if ill have anyone to go with on sat - ill prob be solo so ill def be looking for ppl!!

Total agreement... Nokia SUCKS, but as I've learned through the years, sometimes the quality of the talent supercedes the crappy corporate vacuum that is the venue

it makes me feel like im in disney world or something. oh well what can you do. I much prefer highline and think highline would be a sick venue for sts9 but at least nokia has ALOT of groovin space ;D lord if u come you have to let me know!!
Wow I must be the only one who likes Nokia. It easily one of the best sounding rooms I've been to, not a bad seat in the house either. Im definitely gonna make the Friday show.

hey im from mississippi but im actually gonna be able to make it to the show on the 29th! just bought my tickets!! i just so happen to be comin up with the art department from my school (MSU) that exact same week. i was wondering, how tight is the security at the nokia? iv never been to a show in new york so i dont really know what the pat downs are like....any body got any advise?
ps. a bunch of people from our group are goin to Animal Collective.... its already soled out but i may try ebay or somethin
Security isn't really any different than other venues, except they use a metal detector wand on the way in. The first time I was there they were pretty strict about puffing inside, but didn't see any problems when I was there last Dec. Security actually found some glass on my buddy when he was going in and they gave it back to him and just made him go to the back of the line. I thought that was pretty cool of them.

i'll be both nights, but look out for the fucking after shows, friday, Ooah and Edit from glitch mob at tba which is gonna be the dopest shit ever. also friday conspirator at bb kings. then sat night Bassnectar and others at Rebel music till 5am gonna be a ridic weekend
Oh man Conspirator after show! I don't think I will make that but I wish I could. They put on a latenight show after Umphrey's last December and it was so damn good. If you can make it don't miss it.

yeah, conspirator is perfect for a latenight, and there is gonna be "Special Guests" im hoping for russo and hamilton, they came out at the conspirator highline show and it was ridic. the 2nd time i saw conspirator tho at the EFactory they opened for sts9 and it was a somewhat uneventful show and the sound lvls were all messed up. but i have a real good feeling about them at bb kings

yeah, bb kings has some premium sound, every time i go there its beautiful. i just bought my tix for both nights a couple min ago and im sooo f.ucking stoked. sat im gonna stop by bb kings and rebel for aftershow tix.
oh and just so everyone knows word on the street is GLITCH MOB is opening for tribe on sat now. plus doing the after show with bassnectar. this weekend is gonna be full of electronic bliss i cant wait
