Some of my friends are going and they are really pushing for me to go too. Never seen Umphrey's and I'd like to check um out, I just keep on hearing how bad City Hall is though. How was the venue when you saw Cornell there??

^^^Yeah, I would be more excited if it were Exit/Inn or the Ryman or some other venue, City Hall is by far not my fave concert venue. If it had been anyone other than Chris Cornell performing I would have been totally miserable and it would have been a disaster....but being front row and it being him made the heat and the acoustics bearable....I'm a little iffy about Umps...but it will be Nov so the heat won't be an issue ;D (I'll bring a coat just in case - LOL! THAT I can prepare for....) and I would say either shoot for the front or the back at City Hall, the middle is the WORST acoustically.....I'm hoping it won't be too crowded at Umps though and there will be more room to move than at Cornell.....
I'll probably end up going. I've been wanting to check these guys out and was planning on seeing them at the Echo Project, but I'm not going to that anymore.
Don't know if you like Alice in Chains are not, but they are about to announce an ACOUSTIC date at the Ryman, Wed October 17th. When they got back together I thought it was a joke w/o layne, but they are supposedly kicking ass on this tour. Then I got Gov't Mule the 18th in Nashville, then The Crowes in St. Louis and Memphis........so no Echo Project for me, but I think I'll have more fun w/ a 4 nite marathon run.

Really??? AIC acoustic at the RY??? THAT might be worthy of a look....I LOVE AIC!! With Layne.....but....I also like some of Jerry's solo stuff so I would be willing to give it a listen....you can't hold on to ghosts forever.....and Jerry DID write over half of the AIC catalog. And I LOVE acoustic shows....especially at the Ryman...hmmmm. Thanks Chris! ;D I'll have to do some schedule re-shuffling I think! I smell a pre- VooDoo Nashville concert trip
Edit: I looked closer and its 50 bucks, but the presale is only for the first 15 rows on the floor and the first 5 rows on the Balcony....I was 3rd row dead center on the balcony for the Crowes and it was perfect.

Hmmm, how fast do the presales usually sell out? I can't login from work....I'll have to wait till I get home. I doubt in NashVegas AIC w/o Layne will move THAT quickly tho'.....thanks for the link! I wouldn't have found it! ;D
If nothing else you can stalk Jerry Cantrell by his tour bus and try to get in that way, I've heard he has a thing for the southern ladies!! I just don't picture you as the stalker type though....... the chicks that were trying to get into the Crowes show (which wasn't sold out!!) were offering to perform random acts on the band to get in, funniest damn thing I had heard in a while.
