I can't find any actual Patti Smith forum to post this in (what a shame, there should be one), so I think maybe some people here will find this interesting. Last Saturday she did her annual Rock'n'Rimbaud concert in London and I've got a long review of it at the3penguins.blogspot.com . Let me know what you think! And keep your fingers crossed we see her at 'Roo next year.

So I was walking around downtown Chicago after a Cubs game a few weeks ago and I came across this tent set up about three blocks off the lake. The tent was transparent, so I could see in and hear what was going on, but they weren't letting people in because there was a benefit going on. I stand for a few minutes, listen, and on comes Patti Smith. She did a full set for about 250 people. It was incredible.
