anyone going? december 5th in ft. laut. blind melon is my all-time favorite band. i have mixed feelings about hearing them play their old stuff without mr hoon.
seems like it would sound like the best cover band youve ever heard.
You ever make it to the show? I'm with you, one of favorite bands (check out my sig) but I'm not sure about the new singer. Shannon really made Blind Melon truly unique, although the rest of the band is extremely talented. The new singer sounded decent, but still, it lacks the Hoon presence
yea, they're supposed to be playin langerado, whose lineup looks great by the way. sucks - i live in jacksonville but i won't be around for langerado in march. but about blind melon, yea, i'm kinda skeptical...kinda like the "reformed" alice in chains that's touring the country right now...

i saw blind melon play their very first show back together with travis singing. i have always loved the band and couldn't pass on the opportunity to see the guys especially since it was only 10 bucks which is not the way aic has been doing it they just seem to be in it for the cash. anyways as skeptical as i was about seeing the band without shannon i have to say they killed it up on stage together. travis is very reminiscent of shannon and he came out on stage to say that we wasn't there to replace him is was just there to let the band continue something that they always loved doing together. i'm hoping they come to roo this year so everyone can see that they are for real.
I hope so too, these guys are what I hope to be musically someday, especially Shannons vocals/lyrics. Unfortunately, I was only 8 when he died so I never got to see them
