I know. Really excited about this one. Have you ever been to Toads Place? Not my favorite venue but sure to be a hot show.
i was gonna go there for Carbon Leaf NYE but i decided to throw my own New years bash... i'm gonna be at Girl Talk though... how could anyone in VA possibly miss this!! :-)
Hopefully. I saw him in Houston in November with Busdriver and someone else.
Was probably the 2nd person to jump on stage, it was awesome.
I felt bad for the crowd though because the stage was packed, and people were in front of Greg which blocked him out completely from the crowd. Also there were random people with bottles just pouring it over the crowd. Whiskey in the eye is not fun..
ok im going to see girltalk this thursday in orlando at my favorite club, just last thursday they had wu tang and it was amazing.. but becca i looked and didnt see anymore dates added after miami this saturday so im not sure about the spring dates..
Fri 05/02/08 Richmond, VA Toad's Place Of Richmond
Toads Place is a club here in Richmond. They opened like a year ago and thus far had the likes of Franti, The Avett Brothers, Galactic, Wu - Tang, and tons more. It is an off shoot of long time club of the same name in Conn. www.toadsplacerva.com
EDIT: But you already knew that huh. How is the one there?

Girl Talk is one of those artists that I got into right before shipping out for Manchester last year and he absolutely killed his set! I'd love to see him again, but in a club setting.

In Dallas we collapsed the stage at the Girl Talk show, it was actually the floor. The leg of the stage went straight through the floor. Old building second floor. i saw him 3 times last year, coachella, roo and dallas. I think Coachella was the funnest, anyone could go on stage there. Hers a clip from Dallas and pictures
GIRL TALK WAS quacking TIGHT IN RICHMOND! Here's a run down of friday night:
We get to toads place and have a drink, then we run into one of my good friends from college, Josh, and some of his friends. Panacea opens the show. Greg Gillis talks about how he doesn't endorse red bull but the club let him use this red bull table for his laptop and monitors. He then talks about how the club was a spaceship. Greg puts on the shade, Girl Talk has begun. Stage instantly fills up with people dancing. Josh says something and disappears into the crowd, we later found out he was on stage the entire time. The entire club moves to the dancefloor and goes fucking buckwild for 1.5 hours. Felt like 4 hours. Fucking awesomeness then More A++ness with mad bitches and dudes just dancing their asses off, sweating like crazy and smelling terribly but nobody cares. Girl talk ends. I over hear a random Girl say that her night wasn't that good but at least she got to touch Greg's butt. My wife, Amy, is a bad DD and is really drunk still. We walk to car, relax, head back to bar/restraunt. Eat chicken fingers and I have a local microbrew. 1.5 hour drive home starting at midnight. We stop at VA's cleanest reststop to get coffee, it's the hottest freaking cup of coffee I've ever held. Mario kart. Passed out.
What a night. If u ever hear that girl talk is in town. Do not miss it. I repeat do not miss it.
^4500 pics from the Richmond Girl Talk show. This pro photographer was there shooting. i dunno if he works for gillis or what, but he took 4500 pics that night, so i have to assume that he does.
here's a few so you don't have to search through a bunch...

^^Cool pics, I caught him the following day in Roanoke with probably less than 50 people in the crowd. Apparently it was the exact same set that you saw. Friggin rocked it. Plus, there was free beer.

i wish he updated his tour dates more frequently. i would follow that man up and down the east coast if i could... those parties are a freaking blast and a half!

^^The show here was at a very small local all-girls college. They threw him mad bones for an appearance for their "Mayfest" and he looked and saw it was an all-girls college and probably didn't want anyone else to show up
Unfortunately for him, the vast majority of this all-girl college are more manly than I am probably
