Saw him at Roo, and w/The Allman's in CT, both in '06... so much FUN both times!!!
Since he's playing here the day after I get back from Roo this year... well, I won't have much left to give him this time around, so I'll have to be passing, but if you like him, and you can, totally check him out!!!
Caught the 2nd half of his Florida hoimecoming show on PBS a few weeks ago, and it was great... totally worth picking up on DVD, once again, if you like him of course
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

Dont forget he also has ties to pearl jam, allman bros, black crowes, bo diddly, johnny cash (rip), anybody who has worked w/ jeff lynn; ie fleetwood mac and traveling wilburys (dylan, lynn and petty still living). Also, a sideband w/ benmont and mike campbell (mudcruth) where petty plays bass.

I love it because he always plays cincy, and he's playing Noblesville (Deer Creek Amp w/ camping in walking distance, STELLA STELLA!!!!)
I would say he would do Summerfest again and he would do Roo'. If he was offered it. He loves the outdoor venues. The more I think about it, the more I see Bonnaroo being;
Thursday Headline - Allman Brothers/Widespread Panic Friday Headline - Pearl Jam Saturday Headline - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Sunday Headline - Allman Brothers/Widespread Panic
And, of course, AC will have atleast five other great bands on the bill no one could deny. i.e. Daft Punk(late night), B.B. King, Willie Nelson, MMJ, Primus, Oysterhead, etc. etc. etc...

given that petty gives himself two days to go from hartford to boston, it doesn't seem like he's going to throw a 2000 mile trip between boston and new york. I don't think his show would be that spectacular anyways, during the allman bros / petty tour in 06 allman should have been the headliner, not petty. Lackluster performance especially following roo.

tom petty is my fav..plus if steve winwood the lead singer for traffic another one of my favs that ill be great! i have seen petty/ steely dan..petty/ the strokes and petty/ jackson browne all before plus solo shows.. i also want the avett brothers and OCMS there as well along with many others that would take a lifetime to name.
yes! i'm SO excited for this show. we've gone the last few times they've been around, and really, it's such a fun show.
correct me if i'm wrong, but presale (fan club = $40) tickets are onsale this wednesday, 1/30, and public on sale is mon, 2/4. we're hoping for GOOD seats
