Seeing as how I seek advice in the music dept. I figured I'd ask a field of experts (that's you guys)
On April 9th, I have two very different, yet both equally entertaining shows to choose from:
1) Tim Reynolds w/ TR3. $20. On campus, and literally a 15 minute walk from my front door.
2) Bassnectar. $10. Roanoke (hour halfish drive away from me right now). My favorite bar in the city...
Now, as if this wasn't already a tough decision there is one factor that is really weighing heavily on one of the choices... I turn 21 on April 10th, aka midnight during whichever show I'm at. If I just happen to be at a bar the minute I turn 21 while Bassnectar is ripping down the walls, that just might be the greatest feeling in the world! ;D ;D
Other important information:
I've seen Tim Reynolds twice now, and Bassnectar only once (Langerado). I'm told that Bassnectar is best when indoors, so I really don't want to miss my chance when he stops so close by...

Well... I hadn't made up my mind, but then in the process of writing the post and seeing all the pros/cons of each I kinda did make up my mind I s'pose...
But I still like seeing what others would do in the situation just for shits and giggles maybe... ;D
go see bassnectar if u wanna see some hack DJ spin the same shit hes been playing for 2 years and whine about politics all night. I dont have anything good to say about tim reynolds either. you should just go see Telepath the night before

Telepath is playing in Blacksburg... which would add an additional 90 minutes round trip on our drive. They are sick though, I saw them for the first time opening for Lotus a month or two ago
Edit... But, driving down to blacksburg Tuesday night and seeing Telepath, then staying with friends of mine at VT for the night and day and then coming back up through Roanoke to catch Bassnectar would be one hell of a way to kick in my birthday I think....
oh by the way I just like to hate on bassnectar he puts together a pretty bumping party. its just after seeing the same show 3 times I started to get a little bothered

ive only seen bassnectar... 2 or 3 times i cant remember. the first time i loved him the 2nd time i lvoed him and the 3rd time (langerado) i thought was a tad lackluster. but i did like when he dropped frank sinatra. so there ya go.
