Dear Allman Brothers Band Ticketholder –
We're sorry to inform you that the Allman Brothers Band performances scheduled for May 5 – 24, 2008 at the Beacon Theatre have been postponed.
For the past six months, founding member Gregg Allman has been receiving scheduled treatments for Hepatitis C, a virus that, with these treatments, has become curable in recent years. The treatments so far have been successful and the virus has been eradicated from his system. The recovery time has taken longer than originally anticipated and it was a group decision to postpone the Beacon Theatre shows.
The unparalleled loyalty of Allman Brothers Band fans has been well documented in the music industry for over 39 years – the last 19 at The Beacon Theatre. The band is committed to giving 110% and wants to be sure that they are in top form before returning to The Beacon Theatre.
Live Nation and the Beacon Theatre are working to make sure that we find a solution to this road block and ensure that the music never stops. We are devoted to bring these amazing concerts to dedicated fans like you and thank you for your patience during this unforeseen and unfortunate delay.
Please hold onto your ticket until the rescheduled dates are announced. For further information, you may visit www.allmanbrothersband.com or www.BeaconTheatre.com for a complete press release and updates.
And here I was thinking Gregg was the picture of clean living and health....
Sorry to bum you guys out...but I think these are gonna get canceled....they've got a Summer tour booked, and they're not gonna play the Beacon in the fall only to come back again a few months later for next year's run....
Sucks...I had really good seats for opening night.
Shoot! This is horrible news. I feel so bad for Greg Allman and I hope his health improves soon. I'm also upset about the fact that I was really looking forward to seeing them, as selfish as that may sound. I know when something like hepatitis comes into play, everything else pales in comparison, but damn, am I bummed out. I'll admit, they weren't the top band on my list of shows to see, but they were certainly in the top 10 and might have even snuck into the top five.
