Oh how I wish I could go to this. I even have 2 tickets to the Chicago show, but I just cant afford to take the time off of work to drive all the way there.
Then I proceeded to get all corned and all the pics are bad. But, once again, I got to touch a musical god. Evidence of said tactile encounter:
Note the position of my hands, lol.
I vote for never washing my arm again, but Dan says I must. sheesh
Hey Bamabelle! You, too, could have been touched by Tom. I was thinking about you! As usual, my memories are not crystal, but Boots Riley was good. Tom was good. And some other people I didn't recognize.
At the end we did a sing a long to "This Land is Your Land" It was fucking awesome.
Yeah so the show was really freakin sweet. I can't believe they played that well, with little or no rehearsal. They rocked the hell out of that place. My ears are still ringing. That song Tom did with Boots Riley and the whole band was crazy awesome. Great show for a great cause. I've got some videos to upload. Hopefully tomorrow they'll be up here.
I voted for not washing the arm either....but Dan won out... BUT you DID say it stayed for a while...
LMAO! I LOVE the pic of Tom signing the CD...you are praying at MY alter girlfriend! ;D Too frickin' cool....wish I had been there....sigh...sounds like TOOO much fun. I can imagine Boots was great...LOVED him with some Galactic at VooDoo....sorry you and Dan missed that one....
And the pic of you and Danbird is great! Can't wait to see EVERYONE at the brunch!!
But I DID get to touch Tom at Roo last year....guess that will have to do till I can get to another show....
well, i would have had pics but one of my friends got me all paranoid about trying to get a camera in (the corn didn't help neither). so i didn't even try. it was bullshit cause they didn't even search anyone. anyway, im bitter about that. sorry. but.........
the show f'n amazing...it was a clusterfuck of superstars on the stage...simply amazing and so close! the nightwatchman was awesome as he is alone, they all did like three song acoustic sets at first...except ben played four of five jams with his band. then a bunch of collaborations w/ the freedom fighter orchestra featuring state radio and breckin meyer. shooter jennings, perry farrell, and ben were prolly my favorites.
guests were boots, wayne kramer, ike reilly, shooter jennings, jessi colter, perry farrell, ben harper, sen dog and tom...we were all yelling maynard cause he hadn't been to any and this was the last one.
