I dont know, for me it would lolla all the way, but iv seen tribe a bunch and I'm not really an umph fan. but the way I look at it is all the bands on the lolla line up that I like don't tour all year round.
I voted STS9/Umphreys, because that is likely what I am going to do. But most of that has to do with money. I live 2 miles from the STS9 show, or I could spend over $1,000 (for me and my wife) to go to Lollapalooza. I think that Lolla is going to be great and the headliners are top notch, but after seeing RATM at Vegoose, NIN at Chella, and Radiohead twice on their tour, I think that I am going to stay close to home and go see STS9. I view it as a nice consolation prize to not going to Lolla and spending all that money. But the Lolla line-up sure was tempting.
If you are a RATM fan and have never seen them...it HAS to be Lolly.... Umps/STS9 you can see <fill in the blank with any date you like in the near future> Who knows how much longer RATM will tour/staytogether?? I'm kinda betting MAYBE till the end of the year....if they last till next year I will be SHOCKED...to be honest I was SHOCKED they were still touring into THIS year....since they show NO signs of doing any new music.....
PLUS...as has been pointed out....you ALSO get Radiohead..NIN...and all the other Lolly stuff you might like/want (Really? Raconteurs are doing Lolly too? Man...they are almost pulling a JJ this summer no? ...... JW>>JJ! ;D)
Lolla has a great lineup- I would love to see Radiohead again, but I had to go with Tribe and Umph because thats where I'm headed. Both of those bands are amazing on their own so seeing them together will no doubt be incredible! ;D

If you really are from atlanta, I really cannot even begin to fathom how you'd only spend $600 total at lolla. Although I've never been, I just don't picture $600 covering anything much beyond the ticket and travel expenses. You gotta factor in hotels, food, and any fun you might wanna have. If you have found free lodging that's a huge relief financially and the $600 might be doable. If that's the case, go with lolla. Otherwise, i think the price you're expecting out of lolla is a bit of an underestimate and you might be better off dancin your butt off to STS9 and umph for two nights
the only way i would go to Lollapalooza this year would be to see teh Girl Talk and teh Radiohead... and especially if you are worried about expense-wise, lolla is gonna run you 100 times what you'd pay to see 2 nights of those guys.
