Jane’s Addiction reunited; Lollapalooza?
In a move that shouldn’t surprise anyone (especially after the massive success of Satellitejanes_addiction_180x180.jpg Party), word is leaking that Perry Farrell will once again reunite his old alt-rock band, Jane’s Addiction. The reports come this morning from Rolling Stone, which expect the band together as early as the next few weeks.
…the band is getting together once more to play the NME Awards at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on April 23 (no plans for a full tour have been announced). According to NME’s publishing director, Paul Cheal, Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins are all confirmed for the show, though neither original bassist Eric Avery nor reunion bassist Chris Chaney have signed on yet. The band will also be presented with the NME Godlike Genius Award for Extraordinary Services to Music at the ceremony, which is being held in the U.S. for the first time in twenty-five years.
have you even listened to NIN's recent stuff? maybe rage hasn't put out new material recently, but they are still among the best live acts in the world, haven't lost a step.
I agree about NIN. I didn't like the years between downward spiral and Year Zero. But I thought Year Zero ended up being one of the best albums of the year last year. Excellent album.
If they could get Eric Avery to play with them, then I might give it a bit more credit. Otherwise, It's Perry Ferrell and a bunch of other people pretending they want to be there.
I saw Jane's Addiction the last time they were together and the last time Lolla was a touring fest. I thought they still had it. It was the best show of the day for sure.

Agreed, for the most part (but I would give best show of the tour stop I saw to QOTSA or The Music).

OMG. Janes is still my ideal dream headliner for Bonnaroo. I'd love to see a 40 minute version of "3 Days". Hell, just play an entire set that is only "3 Days". Can you guess what my all time favorite song is?
