Thom Yorke had this to say about Spank Rock, "When this record came out last year, it cut through all the sh*t for me. It was like a slap 'round the face. The computers speaking over their reference points and pointing to something brand new. Turn it up."
anybody listen to these guys? they only have one song on myspace but it sounds pretty good. jambase has an article on them. im gonna check out the album.
well ive listend to it and its pretty good. i was doing nuts as i listened so i wasnt real focused but i liked it alot. i could see them filling the streets spot or something. im hoping for a roots/J5 latenight. its got more heavy swearing and sex then j5 but its good and i think it fit into the roo hip hop scene quite well. i thought last years hip hop was a little weak. not into the streets or atmosphere that much. i like lyrics born but i heard his show left alot to be desired. and i dont really carre at all for common. i could go either way on blackalicious. but i have big hopes of J5 this year. no matter who played the hip hop latenight i would have been at umph/bisco. hope i dont have to miss J5 this year.

I saw these guys open for Beck back in October and they really do put on a good show. Its not too often that an opening act can set the bar up high fopr Beck, but thats what they did.
I am not one for watching hip hop acts live, but they pull it off well. They can rap, rock, and jam out at the same time. It would not even surprise me if they are on Bonnaroo's roster this year.
