I have not stopped listening to Neon Bible since New Year's... As good or better than Funeral. Absolutely moving stuff, man. You are on the right track!
I'm sorry, but this album made a convincing case to me that the Killers and Arcade Fire are kindred spirits drinking from the same early 80s Springsteen fount. I know I risk the wrath of smitery by saying this, but me no likey.

no smiting necessary, I am not forcing anyone to like it...I disagree with you but music is each persons own interpretation of their life so its all good...

I disagree as well, I don't know how anyone could compare the greatness of the Arcade Fire to the likes of the Killers. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I loved it at first, but over time the heavy-handedness of the album (even by Arcade Fire standards) starts to wear thin and the dominance of Funeral is revealed... 3.5 stars out of 5 (good). Funeral is 4.5 stars (superior)
I agree about the heavy handedness comment. I think there can be soundscape and lushness without such an "epic" delivery. I was fast to jump on NEON BIBLE for this tendency, but it has grown near to Funeral over time in my mind(and that i like).
And though I certainly hear Springsteen influences and tributes even, I can't dismiss this like I can the Killers!

I agree 100%. Funeral had an urgency to it that I really got off on. Aside from a couple of key tracks, Neon Bible just isn't doing it for me. I find it kinda boring.
