^^^There are very few large festivals that do good by their ticket buyers as Bonnaroo. ACL doesn't even release their lineup until well after their tickets have been on sale and hiked in price. For two tickets, you'll probably end up dropping around $400. You might even consider buying a third. I went with a group of 4, and one of the guys cancelled at the last second. We all split the cost of his ticket ($180) and sold the ticket the day of the event for $360 on craigslist, which covered our gas and food costs. It turned out better than I could have planned it.

Just recognize that it's a risk - in 2005 I got stuck with an extra ticket and had to dump it for $100 (face value was like $160). Buying extra tickets for resale is only worthwhile if Bonnaroo sells out.

This is very true. Which goes back to the advantage you have of getting the brunt of the lineup when tickets go onsale. If you have the standard PJ, Dave, WP kind of lineups, you probably will be hard pressed to sell an extra ticket. Even if Bonnaroo gets the Police, and say, the Police also play Coachella, you'll still probably be hard pressed to sell that ticket. But a draw like Radiohead, who was only doing a limited tour of mid sized venues last year, is the kind of draw that will steal buyers away from other fests and increase the value of your ticket.

wait..so let's say they release artist lineup on jan 31st....that's not the official lineup? i am no doubt buying my tickets the day they go on sale but i'm not going to even know who's going to be there???
and my boyfriend isn't buying his ticket until like a month after they go on sale (i'm not sure why) but is he going to end up paying a lot?? it's not my money but i'm trying to talk sense into him.
ACL is Austin City Limits. I assume that is the confusion
The lineup on the 31st (or whenever they announce it) is official. And if you don't get your tickets in the first hour or less the price goes up...but it'll still be about $200 whether you buy them that afternoon or a month later.
once the "official announcement" is made on bonnaroo.com then those bands are for sure. well willie nelson backed out because of health reasons and was replace. but for the most part that set in stone. and if he waits he might have to pay more. they go up after they sell so many. but its usually only a 25 dollar jump

yea they have 3 pricing levels. after the first one runs out they go up, and then they go up again after the 2nd tier sells out. usually first tier goes quick and you have a day or 2 for 2nd pricing level tix
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
I got my ticket last year in april and it cost 204.00$, though it most likely will go up around 10 more dollars this year. And I don't know about previous Roos but last year did not sell out till about 6 days before it started. Which would give you a limited window if you wanted to unload a ticket and still get face value or more.
