I loved Euphoria Morning as well, and everything else Chris has ever done. However, I have heard most of the new album and I am really disappointed. I think the album was rushed, and don't think this is anywhere being Chris' best work.
^^^ You know, that was kind of my first impression on the first few listens of the new CD as well. That it wasn't as good as EM, and that it was a bit thrown together. But when I saw him in concert in Nashville, I got the impression that he was really enjoying the tour, and that he had really just done this CD for his own enjoyment, so maybe I should listen to it with a different perspective. So I have to say it has grown on me. It's almost like you have to go at it with a dark sense of fun....it's very tongue-in-cheek in many places. I don't think you can take it as seriously as most of his other projects. I really think this was just a pressure valve thing for him.....and if you take it at face value and don't try to read a lot into it....it is what it is - and there is some good stuff there, and some eh stuff. No great "WOW" Chris Cornell is God stuff. But the man could sing the NYC phone book and it would sound better than most of the drivel being put out today IMHO....
