I've heard a few of you mention this group and alot of folks on the portishead forum dig them so i decided to download their album "Blue Lines" from I tunes, great album. Does anyone have any suggetions on which album i should download next? Also any suggested similar type bands. I like Portishead, Trans Am, Lovage, some Gorillaz, Tortoise, Mr. Bungle (california only).

"Mezzanine" is probably Massive Attack's finest moment, if you ask me. It's absolutely pheneomenal!
Also, if you dig Portishead, you might want to check-out The Controls. It's more up-beat and accessible, but "One Hundred" is a GREAT record. I'm always really bummed when NO ONE knows what I'm talking about when I mention/praise them. Check it out.

Agreed, Mezzanine is the place to go. Horace Andy and Liz Taylor's voices as guests just put the cherry on the cake. Every listen reveals new subtleties.
One of the few albums that I own that I can truly call a "masterpiece".

100th window is my favorite Massive Attack album...Mezzanine is probably second, then Blue Lines, and then Protection. Protection does have a really good song on it, listen to Heat Miser. Its an awesome song.
