As some of you know I'm holding out on listening to the new Radiohead cd until I can listen to it with my new girlfriend....btw, i am contemplating making the 4 hour drive this weekend rather than waiting until 10/26 like i had planned which is either a sign of our growing love, or a sick example of my Radiohead obsession - I kind of think it's both
I'm trying not to read any reviews, but I did see that it's only a 160 kbps download and a lot of people were complaining about it, but I think it was before they actually heard it.
Do any of you have complaints? And try to be vague with your answers please!

Sound quality definitely isn't perfect, which is why I'm still planning on purchasing the discbox when I get a few extra bucks. It's only noticeable on the first track though, in my opinion.

Thanks for the input.
I'm without a doubt buying the cd in some fashion, but I don't know if I can spare $80 in the near future. I'm assuming there is a limited quantity of the dicboxes, so I hope I don't wait too long.

From Pitchfork:
One new topic he did touch upon, however, is the touchy subject of the 160 kbps In Rainbows mp3s. Justified Jonny: "We talked about it and we just wanted to make it a bit better than tunes, which it is, so that's kind of good enough, really. It's never going to be CD quality, because that's what CD does."
Honestly, the sound quality is just fine. We all now possess the new album, isn't that what really matters?
This whole "sound quality" BS just seems like people wanting to bitch about something, just like every single thing in this f'd up world of ours. Nothing can never just be left alone and accepted for the way it is.
But I do think the heavier songs will probably sound a lot better on cd or vinyl, especially "15 Step". But yeah, it's fairly incidental, imo. The songs still sound gorgeous with good speakers.

Yeah, techincally it isn't what it is, because by definition you lose some sounds when it's compressed. Not that I'll be bitching about it though....from all your comments it sounds like I have nothing to worry about.

Listened to it, and while I'm sure it will sound different, I agree that it doesn't really seem like we're missing much.
Definitely nothing to get upset about. Unless you paid over $20 for it like some peope reportedly did, but sorry, that just makes you stupid.
And you know what, I especially don't have any sympathy if people paid that much but then complained about it because they could have just cancelled the order, and then re-ordered it for free.
