im kind of new to the whole dj thing...but i remember a while back someone on here suggested "moving in stereo" by dj caps and jones. and i really really liked it. i was just wondering if anyone else had some suggestions for some good dj mixes.

Coldcut - Journeys By DJ (I think it's recently been reissued) (everything and the kitchen sink)) Andrea Parker - DJ Kicks (little known dJ who definitely brings the funk) Andy Smith - Document (Portishead's DJ) (very eclectic mix of hip-hop, rock and dance) Richie Hawtin - MixMag Live (HARD TO FIND) (hardtechno/trance) Kruder & Dorfmeister - DJ Kicks (best volume of a classic series) Rob Swift - Soulful Fruit (less traditional hip-hop mix from one of the masters)
Theses are some of my absolute favorite mixes. I hope it helps.

if you like the caps and jones fast cut / remashing kind of stuff you should check out some of my mixes here: www.anemonemusic.com/mixPage.htm
other than that i second the z-trip stuff above and here is a page with over 10,000 legal (to the best of my knowledge) dj sets, though they are all very dance / house / techno oriented. it may be a bit much to wade through at first, just pick one and go from there. for starters i recommend booka shade, john digweed, and richie hawtin, although your tastes will dictate what you really dig: alldj.org/list.htm

DJ Kicks Series is great...
Richie Hawtin - Closer to the Edit (techno at its finest, some great grooves on this album) Mark Farina - any of the mushroom jazz series for some downtempo or any of his house mixes. Greenskeepers - Polo Club (the bonus mix cd for some nice funky house)
