Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
She was up until about March, when one set of her grandparents wanted her to visit in June and the moons just aligned for it to be during Roo. I'm a little (okay, ALOT) bummed that she's not coming but next year she will go for sure. Being 3 this is a little early for her to really remember, but next year at 4 1/2 she'd be perfect. Plus, that lets me really scope out and get comfortable with the family-stuff Roo is adding this year.
I'm going to miss spending the day with my son and dad. We always hang by the pool, grill out and check up on the US Open. My wife is planning a day for us on Wednesday, as I have the week after off.
How about shirts for the kids, something like "my dad went to Bonnaroo and took me with him! -father's day at bonnaroo 2007" or "my dad's so awesome that he took me to bonnaroo!" or "real men take thier kids to bonnaroo"
(i think that's my favorite)
I know there's not enough time to do something like that but I just thought it was a funny idea and wanted to share it.
I think it's a great idea to do something for the dads. We'll be in family camping with our two wee ones.

This is my first year as a father, and my wife and baby boy will be visiting with my wifes aunt in Alabama while I'm at Bonnaroo...I'm struggling with this fact trying not to let it bum me out. I am feeling a bit bad about this...I know I'll have a great time, i just hope Sunday isn't a total bummer.

It won't be man- let's get together for a Father's Day beer. This will be my 4th father's day at Roo away from my daughter (she's 4- I spent the first one with her, haven't done one since). Next year she'll be joining my wife and I on a family-Roo trip that will likely be a very different experience.
But I like to think that being at Roo and experiencing that community and affinity for diverse music is what makes us better dad's. And that our children would not only want us to, but love us for being that guy who likes that (versus say, a squaredancer who hates their kid's music).
But it is a weird and reflective morning, that Sunday morning. Last year my own tribute to my dad made it into the Bonnaroo Beacon (they ask for small text tributes each year) so that was cool.
But a Sunday afternoon/early-morning spent in reflection of how lucky we are to have great family's and to be father's who care-- well that's deserving of company and drink. So maybe we get the Dad's to meet at the KidzJam location sometime Sunday early afternoon and all go get a drink...

Sounds good. I would love to take my son in a few years, although it is pretty daunting and I'm not sure how my wife would like it. She likes music but she's no fan of heat and crowds. Fathers Day Beer sounds cool.
Pick a time and a spot! Maybe the beer tent?!
I guess I'm just a little bit conflicted about the trip this year being a new dad and all(my son is almost 5 months old), meeting some other dads in the same boat would be cool.

I think I'm going to make a shirt with my boy on it for Sunday..I have this hilarious one where he is just crackin up...it might make the day a little brighter.
Ya know - I have to chime in here as a mom - Boz was home for our daughter's first Father's Day but for the past two years and now this year - we have been at Bonnaroo. In all honesty - your child - at this age - has no clue and the best thing you can do as a father is recharge your batteries.
Father's day is a day that was picked to honor father's and now is over commercialized - no one said you had to celebrate it on that day - pick your own Father's Day and celebrate!
I would like to say I understand the delima about being with your kids for father's day. However 2 years ago I went on a Deep Sea fishing trips with a group of girls and left my husband and child at home. It was Mother's Day weekend and I said that was my gift to myself. I had so much fun and sometimes having weekend away (even if it is father's /mother's day) really can make you a better parent because you really feel refreshed and you miss them so much you do not take them for granted.

I got bored and made this with my printer and a glu-stic(I'm old school...no photoshop) Feel free to give this idea the slick refined touch of illustrator/ photoshop.
Hope George A. Ramiro doesn't mind...he's probably pretty cool.
