For anyone who hasn't seen daft punk's coachella performance from last year I suggest you watch it. I wasnt there but this makes me want to see them anywhere. The Sahara Tent kicks incredible ass. THey dont even turn on the pyamid lights until they are 30 minutes into the set. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1354792744516813690&q=daft+punk+coachella&total=464&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0 And I still am so mad at myself for seeing Girl Talk over Justice at Coachella this year. I didnt know about Justice until after the festival. Major Oops. And I left Aracde Fire early to see Girl Talk. Girl Talk was way funner at Coachella cuz anyone could get on stage if they wanted. Speaking of Which Justices intro at Coachella this year. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5923903690104298868&hl=en And Girl Talks intro video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6858964189907243347&hl=en I wouldnt mind seeing underworld, but would rather see the other two. Oh yeah, I consider both festivals about equal, coachella is cleaner but less freedom and more expensive. Bonnaroo = Anything goes for a good value.
I wouldnt mind seething them, but I wouldnt be incredibly excited for it either. More than likely I'd check them out, but it depends on who theyd be up against.

Not a big Daft Punk fan, but I wouldn't mind 'em. If I had my druthers, however, I'd take The Avalanches, Justice or Aphex Twin for electronica over Daft Punk any day.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
DP would be a great late night act. I can't imagine them being in a tent, since I believe they have a rather complex light show. Although Coachella got them into a tent, so it could work. Either way, that show would be insane.

I would be a mighty happen person if roo got Portishead, Aphex Twin, and Squarepusher playing over the weekend. I could sacrifice Daft Punk for those 3 bands....period!
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
Biggest and Best Dance Party of the year. Easily the best electronic show I've seen. Quite the spectacle. They had all of Red Rocks bumpin and grindin the night away. The hippies, the candy kids, the trendies, the dweebs, the teeny-boppers, the pregnant chic, the dude with a TV on his head, the 2 Optimus Primes, everyone was fucking bumpin'. I have never been to a phish show where the entire crowd was getting down for the WHOLE show, but that's how this was. It was sick.
The visuals were intense. I had to tell myself to stop dancing every now and then just so I could take in the lights and the pyramid. The set was pretty much exactly the same as the coachella set from last year, with only a few minor differneces in the way they mixed the changes and the music between the changes was also more "jammed out" for lack of a better term. The encore was new music was extremely sick. They came out with the stage all dark, and then their robot suits lit up just like TRON with Red lines all around.
I've never been to a show that was more like a video game, and I love video games, so this was right up my alley. The lights and pyramid displayed alot of solid colors, and straight lines giving it a throw-back to the 80s feel, but as the show wore on, you could tell that the displays in the pyramid were extremely high def.
People going to Lolla are going to have fun. My only concern with seeing them at a festival would be that the entire crowd may not be entirely into it. Where at Red Rocks everyone was there to see Daft Punk and bumpin' the night away, at Lolla and Vegoose you're going to have a bunch of people there for various reasons which may throw the vibe off slightly. Just tell those mother fuckers to dance and they should be a'ight.
