i agree its not as exciting to discuss because most would want them there. but it seems some of these are posted with the sole purpose of being silly. imo.
I agree, A lot of the yeah or ney bands have seemed uninspired. I like some of your suggestions. Maybe you should start a few of your own yeah or nay threads. I think it would be interesting to see how they pan out.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
Unfortunately, Echo is a no go for me unless the jammy gods intervene. I know, it's sad. I snarl at life everytime I hear anything about it.
grrrrrrr
well i hope ya get it worked out. its the first one ya know? ya know phil is there? it looks like it might be a big camp inforoo. all the cool kids are doing it! (sorry! had to tease a bit) are you praying to the ticket god or the ride god?

I have a small alter built to the ticket god but the majority of my devotional time is spent praying to the everyone-counts-on-me-for-everything-and-I-have too-many-obligations-to-my-family-god
It's not totally out of the realm of possibilty but very very difficult

i see. i have found him/her to be the least dependable of the gods. must be overworked. or have too many family obligations to keep up. luckily i have found family members to be quite the forgiving bunch. hopefully the gods will get off their asses and hook ya up ;D
we played a game at roo to see who the first person to spot someone in patches, a tie dye, or crocs would be and it was incredible how hard it was to do sometimes. it blew all of our minds.
I don't know where you were camping, but next year you should camp near me, I wasn't even IN the gates and had seen all three dozens of times over! Couldn't go two feet without seeing at least one of the three all weekend.....
But as for your list of bands....I like 'em all ;D Bring 'em on.......will make the choices more painful but.....that's the price of good music There were 80+ bands this year at 'Roo....not counting the cafe tents and such. I figure that's more than enough spots for your list, the normal jam bands and some new stuff......not like we are limited here......
Back to the 311 thing, I have to vote nay. I liked a couple of their albums, but then I saw them live at Voodoofest. They didn't suck, but really seemed to be trying to appeal to the teenyboppers. It was a disapointment. I walked out on them.
By the way, I'll go to Echo if the festy gods allow.
Seems like alot of people want Incubus there but not a whole lot want 311. 311>Incubus by leaps and bounds IMHO. And yes I have seen both. Although I'm pretty indifferent to both of them.

I went to one of their shows in 2002 and loved it. But they have just gotten progressively worse these past years. Not just with their music, but their stage presence as well.
sure! they bring a good vibe to any place they play. And anyone who has never seen them could still sing along to 90% of the songs, since they haven't really changed their setlists in about 7 years(i know they play different order every night, but let's be honest, i saw the same show in 1999 as i did last month)

I saw 311 perform on 3/11 for like 311 minutes or more cant exactly remember how long... they played every song... old hits, new hits, old unknowns and everything in between... and for a closer... their song... Who's got the Herb? You think Ben Harper can spawn a huge cloud of smoke from the crowd you should have seen the 311 crowd... one fan proceeded to throw a joint on stage which the bass player P-Nut picked up and smoked... they would fit in well at roo for me... seen then 4 times and its never old... maybe not a headliner though... but late night set? thats a big 10-4 rubber ducky!

I'm not a huge fan.. I only dig a few of their tunes like Amber and the Cure cover Love Song.. I guess they'd be a mellow band to check out if nothing else important was happening

I vote yes, just because i'm a huge positive vibes fan
i saw 311 for the first time this summer w/matisyahu and it was a sick concert,us real 311 fans are die hard, place was nuts, and we promply ignore all the teenypoppers who claim their 'cool'
as much as that would be totally kick asss,as sad as it is to say, i dont see it happening really
im probably going to have to go down to 311 day or langerado next yr to get my 311 fix
