I am bussing it to roo from Long Island and will be in Manchester in the morning that Thursday. Would I just be able to go into the gate if I am waiting by the gate when it opens?

if your just going to be there early thursday morning then there will be tons of people swarming around in manchester camping along the highway staying in hotels.. that whole week people start to come in swarms.. so you could probably just hitch a ride with someone when you get dropped of in manchester .. but to answer your question.. yes you can just walk in .. i did it the first year... just have your ticket ready
Organized religion destroys who we are by inhibiting our actions... by inhibiting our decisions, out of... out of fear of some... some intangible parent figure who... who shakes a finger at us from thousands of years ago and says... and says, "Do it - Do it and I'll fu(kin' spank you."
Better question....I have 3 buses i could arive on...one ar 11 pm Wed ,3 am and 9 am thurs. I heard the gates open early on Wed. How long are they open till befor they shut them for the night or are they open all night? I am planning according to when I can get it.

Weds. dude! thats when it all happens. Go the wal mart weds night, the (wal mart) lot will be full of people and a ride in. The Tennessee dept of Trasportation will force them to open the gates weds night because it is right off the interstate and all the cars will block traffic. Look for the gates to open around 9 or 10 weds night.

do u think they'll shuffle the wednesday night squatters, who they'll be forced to let in, into crappier camping areas?

Y'all should check out Tim's Ford State Park. It's VERY close to Manchester. Then get up about 5 or 6 AM and see if you don't get a closer campsite.JAS
