John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
Ok I was blissfully unaware of their music. But they get so much mention here, I just did some research and listened to some there songs. I can't say I'm that impressed. I might check them out if nothing better was going on. To their credit, they do their vocal harmonies very well, which is no easy thing.

I too am blissfully unaware of their music and don't know anyone who knows them, but their live reviews are always stellar whenever they play NYC, and David Bowie loves them, for whatever that's worth, so I'd like to see them if nothing else I need to see more is going on, just so I can find out what all the hype is about without spending any $, so--- I vote yes
Coincidentally, they are headlining ACL, but are directly against The White Stripes, and I have vowed to never miss any chance I get as long as I live to see Jack White bend whole notes into dripping blue desires, so that opportunity is out
I was blissfully unaware but read so many awesome reviews got a few of their songs... I think they would be far better live than on my iPod. I would go see them!
But theres no way they'd be in a headlining spot. Sorry to break it to anyone. At best, they'd be in Wilco's or The White Stripe's Spot....or perhaps a late night set.
Arcade Fire is amazing! Biglou and I just saw them and LCD Soundsystem in St. Paul on Sunday. They were both incredible. I cannot go a day without listening to Funeral. I wouldn't want them to headline though. They need a smaller stage. If you think their music is 'meh', see them live. It'll change your mind. ;D
^^Yeah, but they aren't headliner level at Bonnaroo. And they're not as big as the Stripes. Not by a mile.
I would say they're a pre-headlner or late night headliner. I'd love to see them get a prime late night slot a la MMJ or Flaming Lips. But calling them a headliner before they've even done arena shows is a bit premature imo.
I saw them at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul. Capacity is about 5800 and it did not look anywhere near sold out to me. I saw the Flaming Lips at the Myth in St. Paul also, which has a capacity around 4500, and it was extremely cramped. (BTW, I hope I'm never forced to see a show there again. That place is WAY too pimped out. ) I didn't think the Stripes show was that bad at Roo, but the Lips show was ridiculous. I could barely see the stage from where I was. I think the Which stage would be fine for AF. They're not as "big" as either of the other two.

i couldnt see the stripes, bc of all the dust, but i was also way back by the bobbleheads. The lips was the same but at night so it wasnt so bad, but for that show i was in the clusterfuck right by the beer stand thats conviently placed right in the middle.
