These guys are at the top of my list for bands I love but have never seen. I think they would make a perfect late afternoon set. Sunny, breezy pop, great for a sing along. Your thoughts?

I really think they would be a great fit, though everytime I hear the name Belle & Sebastian, I think of that movie.

!! It REALLY is about time Belle and Sebastian showed up. Come ON... who couldn't enjoy witty, wry, yet airy and laidback pop? I haven't seen them live... but YouTube has convinced me that they're very interactive with the crowd which is a huge plus for me!!

Just because a person is religious does not make any music they make "religious music." I've listened to Belle & sebastian for years and never even thought of it as religious. after looking up some interviews it does appear that Steuart Murdoch identifies himself as Christian, but his music has never seemed preachy to me.

I wasn't saying it was bad. It's just a personal preference of mine. They are some pretty good song writers. I saw them in California by my cousin's house. They had their own horns and percussion section. It's good music, but I can only enjoy it so much.
What is even remotely "religious" about their music?!
Just because Stuart mentions churches and interjects a bit of imagery here and there, hardly makes it "religious" music. I'd say the homosexual sympathy and drug use cancels out any sort of (?!?!?!) Christian agenda. Geez...I've heard Belle & Sebastian get criticized for a heck of a lot of things, but not once have I ever heard them get called too religious...weird.

This is one of a handful of bands that if they are on the bill, I will be there no matter what. But then again, I'll be there no matter what anyway. But the sentiment is still there.

never even considered this, i would be at this show no matter who else is playing. also on my list of "bands i need to see live"
on the topic of them being religious, i have only listened to their music (never read interviews or anything like that) and had no clue he had any religious leanings, so take that as you will.
well, you ask me why i'm drunk all the time it levels my head and eases my mind i just walk along and stroll and sing i see better days and i do better things
