This whole "Yay or Nay" thing is addictive. So today at work my co-worker was listening to John Legend, and I got to thinking, I would love to see him live sometime. So, I don't know how he is in a live setting (anybody?), but the man's voice is amazing, and he is a hell of a piano player. What do yous guys think about him for Roo? I would never expect Superfly to book him, so it would definitely be out of the blue, but I think many people would be impressed by him. Is John Legend Bonnaroo material?

I think that, while he may be talented, he is incredibly over-rated and (by extension) boring as hell. He's kinda like a male Alicia Keys, in my opinion. The hype and such just overpowers the music. "Instant soulman" just doesn't exist, if you ask me. This year's "flavor of the week" may insure you a cult following but, that doesn't do you ANY good in a "genre"/market that has no patience or allegiance for anything less than top 40 sh!t. I'll pass on his current incarnation(who knows?).... and be happy I did.
