I'm voting maybe... they are absolutely incredible live, but I don't think they really fit the roo vibe. That said, Serj has a new solo album coming out... maybe that would work in the afternoon? It's supposedly pretty heavy, but a solo performance would come across alot more low key, I think, and would fit in better

but in hopes that they wouldnt bring a whole bunch of a$$holes
That's wishful thinking.
Maybe a few a$$holes from the TN area (though i doubt even that,) but no System fan is ever going to travel hours upon hours to a crazy music festival in the middle of nowhere just to see them. We are not talking about the Manchester version of Ozzfest here, and one band would never make that so.
You know what, I'm with Chandler... the ONLY reason I ever think about what may or may not upset the Bonnaroo "vibe" is because so many other people seem to, and I'd hate for all of them them to get upset... but for me, it is also soley about the performances, and the System show I saw last Summer was among the best I've ever attended. Also, Mezmerize is in my list of the best albums of all time, and their politics are appropriately left for the Roo crowd. For me, the vibe in centerroo gets established by the fact that at Bonnaroo, for the most part, the performers pretty much always seem to "bring it" so to speak, and so, though I said maybe, actually I think System would be a welcome addition to, at the very least, my own personal Bonnaroo. OK, sorry for the ramble there on that, I'm done
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

I don't generally like metal (or metal-esq) music, but really like them for some reason. I voted hell yeah, but understand the vibe thing completely (no one needs to start about the Tool fans again, but everyone's thinking it).
I read in Rolling Stone that Serj's new album was supposed to be more piano and orchestra-like but the songs ended making themselves hard like traditional System of a Down stuff. that being said, if he did come alone and did a day performance, it may be really unique and cool. He wrote all his songs on the piano... could be a neat mix if he was there solo.

NOOOOOOOOOOO, It not even their fans. Anybody can go to Bonnaroo ticket or no ticket so you cant blame other people for bad vibes. I think they would bring other bigger metal acts before them, but i would rather see them not go the metal route.
