Did anyone else watch them this year? I went right before The Police came on. It seemed like half the audience got up and walked out. I'm sure all of those people that got up and walked out are telling their friends now that they saw them at Bonnaroo and knew that their show on HBO would be a huge hit.
Ya know what, I'm in the minority of people that was totally turned off by them. All I had to see was the preview of the first episode of their show in the Cine tent and my mind was set. Just not my type of humor. But it wouldn't hurt anything if they were there.

Although I haven't seen that preview, so I don't know how extensive it was, I would advise against deciding you don't like them based on a preview to one episode of the show. That seems a little bit like saying, "I heard 30 seconds of that band's single, and it's just not my kind of music." I understand that you know what kind of humor (and music) you like, but seeing a show's preview is generally not enough to really form an opinion on.
(I also realize that, generally, in making an ad, the advertiser will try to put its best foot forward, such that you would expect to be able to decide whether you have an interest in a show based on the advertisement. However, I doubt very seriously that most of them do a good enough job to really justify an all-or-nothing decision based on an ad.)
I just say this because, based on the ads I saw, I didn't really expect to like Flight of the Conchords all that much. When I saw my first full episode, I thought it was pretty funny, but I thought the music was just kind of dumb. Now, even the music is growing on me. When SweetEvilJesus watched an episode for the first time, he didn't like it. But, after watching a few more, he now finds it funny. (I think he's still a little reluctant about the music, but I don't want to speak for him on that one.)
I can certainly see how they might not be for everybody, but I don't think it's fair to decide that based on one preview.
