Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
After seeing Dudezer put Throbbing Gristle on his Dream Bonnaroo list, and getting a good response from it (albeit from only 2 people), I figured I'd see what the consensus is from the Bonnaroo faithful.
All opinions and things of the like are suggested .
Thanks.
Edit: "Other" could consist of The Fall, Killing Joke, Birthday Party (I wish...) etc... my memory's not working tonight. Someone fill in the blanks with the other option!
I saw EN at a club, like, at least 10 years ago. old school industrial like that is not the wanna-be hottopic set. it was just some german dudes on stage banging object A into object B at various speeds / rhythms. it attracts people who are looking for music being created in unconcentional ways. or at least, that's why i liked it.
although now that i think of it, CV would be pretty badass too.. okay, so would TG. damn, your question is hard.
TG is probably the most danceable.
If i had to pick any modern stuff, it would be wumpscut (if only because he doesnt tour...and really, the new stuff isnt that good...but soylent green needs to be played at roo) or And One - who im really staring to like. plus, they are really energetic live. VNV Nation would be good too - the played Coachella...er...against a RATM headliner....sucks for them.
i would be totally for Skinny Puppy late night set - thier politics are exactly in line with roo and they have a new cd out.
Karma! Good, agreeable views from my vantage point. I most agree with what you say, especially the Skinny Puppy part, but I think a Tear Garden or Download set would be more reasonable.
As far as the question at hand, I honestly think that EN would fit the best, since they are still very radicall, which is typical of a lesser known Bonnaroo band, and also have gotten considerably mellower since the mid nineties. (There I go, answering to my own question...)
damn, I just keep getting shot down. Bad thing is, I like kmfdm and vac in small (3 songs max) doses. I wouldn't call myself a fan of either of them, but their music is nice for a change. I do consider myself a fan of ministry, skinny puppy, ramstien, and nin, though Im not sure if you would classify any of those to be "old school". Honestly, i only recgonize 1 of the names you listed.
