^^^I wanted to catch that Birmingham show, but couldn't make it up there. Hopefully we'll see them on the road again with the new album coming next month.
They were also playing the only show I ever got backstage at, that one in 96 right after my 16th birthday. They co-headlined with Superdrag, with this band The Meices (who I had seen earlier that year) who were just a trio and their manager in a van. I scratched their back and they scratched mine - my friend & I became volunteer roadies and helped with their gear, and they let us backstage.
The guys from Nada Surf were good guys, but Jon Davis from Superdrag was a major asshole.

I expected something more than a broken-string hissy-fit followed by storming offstage. I was let down.
The second time I saw Superdrag - touring in support of Head Trip In Every Key - was opening for Green Day in 98, when they actually had their shit together. It was much better.
