Being a n00b to most festival occasions. This is geared towards the more advanced festival go'ers. But any input is much appreciated!!!
As of now my number one would have to go to other, just because Echo project was perrrfect! . If only the Roo' wasnt held at the hottest time of the year. ;D but i can deal with it.
Although Deer Creek on July 25th 2004 was pretty amaazing
Each fest does have it's highlights. I love Roo's vibes, and overall good times.
However, Lollapalooza had a lot to offer besides the festival. The afterparties/lounges were awesome (I got one of my tatts touched up by a Miami Ink guy... for free), and the city of Chicago is absolutely top notch.
Vegoose had Vegas. Nuff said.
This year, we're planning on hitting 6-8 festivals, so I'll have a better perspective on which really is the best by the time the year is up.

I've really only been to one major festival, but there are others that I'd love to attend and could perhaps surpass my Bonnaroo experiences. All Tomorrow's Parties in England is always impressive, and I would be down with the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland as well. In the states, I'd like to hit Coachella, Pitchfork and Telluride someday.

Really, I've never been to a BAD festival, but Roo was my first, and always my favorite. They just do it right. Lollapalooza is constantly improving, but they have no true on site late nights, the sets aren't as long, and they need better beer. Langerado was awesome, but previously they had no on-site late nights. They will give Roo a real run for their money now. The weather in south Florida at this time of year is perfect for a music festival. Wish I could be there this year. Pitchfork is a great commuter festival (acts wise), but the set times are too short and, frankly, the sound is terrible. Terrible. Both years I've gone I've left complaining about the piss poor sound. I don't even think I'll bother this year. My girlfriend and I also enjoy this VERY small festival we go to in Niles, Michigan in early June, the Niles Bluegrass Festival. Very laid back, byob, saw some great little known bluegrass acts, and the closer was Cornmeal with a scorching set. Lots of fun.
Anyway, Bonnaroo is by far the best. My only complaint is the harsh weather conditions.
Wow, who would have thought Bonnaroo would be so far ahead on this board. Bonnaroo is the best festival. I will always have a special place in my heart for New Orleans' Jazzfest.
Yeah. Im kinda shocked as well. Bonnaroo is the one that i always have the most fun at. But Austin City Limits is more my style. I love the line up and boy talk about some conflicts there.
I'd love to say Bonnaroo, and it's certainly the best I've ever been to, but Glastonbury has the size, the acts and the history.
The year I always like to reference is '94. Johnny Cash, Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead, Blur, Beck, Bjork, Tool, Elvis Costello, Peter Gabriel, James, Ride, Blind Melon, The Pretenders, The Manic Street Preachers (pre Richey James disappearance), Pulp, Spiritualized, Oasis, Beastie Boys, World Party, Tindersticks, Orbital, Paul Weller & Nick Cave

I only have 3 music festivals under my belt, so I don't really have a leg to stand on when I say Bonnaroo is the best. But I would be pleasantly surprised if any other fest was better than roo, bc roo is just AMAZING to me.
I would love to go to shows like Lolla, Coachella, 10,000 Lakes, Echho, Langerado, and all the other awesome ones out there. But I guess for now, I'll just stick with bonnaroo being my huge bang, and continue to go to concerts and shows at the house of blues in the beloved, new orleans
