If i saw either of them i, without doubt, would break down into tears. Pink Floyd, has been the most influential thing in my life in the past year (when i first discovered them). But to answer the question, I would prefer David Gilmour (this is taking NOTHING away from roger). his guitar literally rips into my brain and takes me away to a magical place (that is the best i can describe it). if i saw either, it would make it easier for me accept death, as my one wish before i die is to see Pink Floyd live. (the HAVE to get back together, truly the greatest band in history, and especially since they are all still alive, it is INEVITABLE) both are geniuses at what they do and I would be sent to a wonderland for the rest of my life.
been listening to Live in Gdansk a bit lately and was just thinking how great if either of these gentlemen were out on the festival circuit next year, in particular Gilmour for me. when are we going to get some Floyd on the farm?

I always liked Waters singing more on record. But Gilmour can play the guitar... and Waters probably can't sing as well as he used to. But if Gilmour plays more rarities and solo stuff... AHHH I DON'T KNOW!

I'm voting Roger Waters...but primarily because I've already had the pleasure of seeing Floyd with Gilmore before. And it was an incredible show, far better than I thought it would be without Waters.
But Waters is still on my 'to see' list. Plus I used to argue with a buddy of mine all the time too, and I always said it wasn't really Floyd after waters was gone.
Of course I used to have another friend who always bemoaned the loss of Syd Barrett, so go figure.
I'm a much bigger Gilmour fan, but saw the Waters DSOTM show and it was brilliant (of course he needed about 12 guitar players to replicate Gilmour), so I would be OK either way.
Have seen both more leaning towards Roger if you think he needs a lot of musicians try going to a Gilmour Floyd show. Roger brings the pain and madness in his voice. Thats why we listen to Floyd though they have some really awesome songs the insanity and madness is what brings generations back to the music.

Fortunate enough to have seen Pink Floyd minus Waters and Roger Waters twice. Last show was Roger Waters The Wall. That show, album, movie is a masterpiece...DSOTM on the billboard charts for many many years may be the greatest album ever made both of those were Waters concepts so that speaks for itself. Too bad they couldn't play nice before Rick Wright passed and did another tour.
