Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
edit: i just saw they got added. i'm actually a big superdrag fan, but i did see them in boston this past year and it was....mostly good but for nostalgia than anything else, unfortunately. really only because they didn't play their older music that i love.
if there's no serious conflict i will probably check them out because they would be awesome if they played some of the older stuff.
for those who aren't familiar, check out the albums 'head trip in every key', 'last call for vitriol' and 'in the valley of dying stars'.
oh man, i checked out their wiki, and it said they were a one hit wonder. And soon as I heard the chorus I recognized it. I suppose every festival needs a token one hit wonder (i'm looking at you Fountains of Wayne and Nada Surf)

Whether you like it or not, and whether it compares to the other festival headliners or not. There are more than three headliners on that lineup. Look it over and get yourself a little excited.

I know and after 3 amazing records I still wanted Nada Surf.
This announcement probably excited me the most. Definitely surprised me the most - adding Les was not a surprise. Superdrag is another story. They came out with some strong albums. I saw them twice back in the day. Once touring with Nada Surf, appropriately, and once as the opener for Green Day. That was about a decade ago. About a week after Bonnaroo 03, they played their "farewell" show in Knoxville and the only thing keeping me from going was that I couldn't make the trip to Tennessee two weekends in a row.
Even then, though, whether I see them will depend on what sets overlap them. They'll be a high priority for me, though.
I also saw someone above recommend three of their albums without suggesting Regretfully Yours. I suggest that if you're going to look into these guys, check out some tracks off that album. Head Trip in Every Key, too.
If the show in Knoxville last October is any indication of what they are bringing to the Roo...It will be amazing! Also, they play most of the stuff from Regretfully Yours and Head Trip. I would like to hear more from Vitriol and Valley but we will see!
Superdrag is one of my favorite bands of all time. If you listen to each album, or just any album, you would understand that they are no "one-hit wonder" whatsoever and are a completely credible rocknroll band through and through. IMO, they penned some of the best songs of the 90s, and Sucked Out def. isn't among their finest work.
I don't know what's with you people, the Panic set last year was incredible. I was in too bad of condition to really enjoy it, but I'm def. making an effort this year to be ready for it. It feels like a kind of poetic justice that JJ is stepping down for them, he obviously can't compare to WSP in all their Bonnaroo glory lol. And how about that guy named Les Claypool, for some reason I think his set might contribute a little something to our already beautiful 2008 lineup
Superdrag may be a one hit wonder but they kick ass. Check out the album that sucked out is on, that thing was loaded with great songs, and they've had some other critically acclaimed albums since then. Sucked Out is one annoying song to me but there other stuff more than makes up for it.

It's funny you mention Nada Surf because I think there are a ton of parallels between them and Superdrag. Both are bands that exploded on the scene with an annoying, but commercially sucessfull hit. Once the novelty wore off and people got sick of them, their sucess hit a lowpoint. Since then, people have been slowly coming back and realizing that they have really solid catalogs that are NOT defined by their hits.
I just locked the thread...I am actually surprised how high they are on the bill and that they are being received rather well. I remember hearing their stuff when I was in HS in passing. I need to rediscover these guys.
Why is that bad? I'm happy for him. And if you take a look at the religion thread, you'll notice that there are many other Inforoosters who also share those beliefs. I know you didn't mean to piss anyone off, so I'll try not to step on your toes with my beliefs, but please extend the same courtesy to me.
Back on topic, I've still got my copy of "Regretfully Yours" that I got back in the day. I've never been that impressed with their songs, though, and have been surprised that they've maintained some small, underground success. I'd love to hear more about what you all like about them, and I'll make sure to check out more stuff.
And I for one still think "Sucked Out" is a pretty decent song.
Sorry, it was just a back-handed comment from a born-again atheist. I didn't mean to offend. As I understand it, his religious awakening is what led to the band break-up and it just bums me out a bit. I guess I didn't need all that karma anyway....
In the Valley of Dying Stars gets my vote for most accessible album. This is power pop at its absolute best.

Actually, I think the break-up was more due to the bassist's departure. Jon going Jesus freak might have been related, but wasn't the sole cause of the break-up.

Been following these guys since before Regretfully Yours came out. Saw them many many times in Knoxville, they put on a great show. I'm stoked they got added because I missed the chance to see them at their Knoxville shows last October. I think I would say Head Trip in Every Key is the album to start with if you're looking to check them out.
Superdrag is my favorite band ever ever ever. I've been having some difficulty finding people to go to Roo with me this year, but screw it. Drag's on the bill, I'll go by myself if need be.

Nada Surf has 4 albums.
I was hoping to see their name added, because i thought for sure they were the "What Rhymes with Orange" clue, and they released a new album not so long ago.
I'm happy with the Superdrag add, though. I'll catch it if i can, but i doubt i'll be able to. I'm just happy that there are going to be conflicts at all for Bonnaroo 08. When the lineup first dropped, i had 0 of em. So i'm a happy rooster, i gotta say.
