Plus - I looked - there is another thing similar to this that they use at festivals in Europe - I can't find it now tho - they are like little cottages

Yeah, I saw those too. I'm just saying I didn't realize it was common over there to have so many options. And they are way more about "green" than festivals are here.
seems cool but doesnt seem very economically viable for the us. Its an extra $240 per person at their rates.
It includes a shower facility and private bathrooms that are exclusively for the people that stay in them. That along with the "green" factor, makes it worth it to me.

I would def pay for that... i agree with "music" the green aspect totally makes it worth it... I feel like that is a part of what bonnaroo is about (or is trying to become more)

not to argue the "green" aspect of this but it seems mostly not so green unless you were planning on tossing your tent after the fest. They only keep a small portion of the entire unit to reuse. The rest is recycled after a single use. To me thats exactly like buying a plastic water bottle.
At least in my case a tent that I take I would expect to keep and reuse a number of times over the course of a number of years and a couple of fests a year. when you factor that in you're looking at the energy costs and monetary costs of using these things for at least 6 occassions. I think the total spend far out weights the benefits.
if they added an extra 240 to ticket prices to include these at the fest, 2/3rds of the normal roo numbers would not go. no matter who is playing. I know I wouldnt
I think it is a great idea. Managing it would be very easy. Just book online ahead of time and have separate walled off area with someone checking for a certain color wristband to get into area just like they already do for the VIP area.
People already pay an extra $400 per VIP ticket. I am sure you could convince more than enough people to give you $100 per person for this.

I could see these coming in handy for people flying in for the weekend. This could also be handy for groups who want to reserve a 'neighborhood' of them in Tent Only (Hotel Inforoo, anyone?).

They look cool and it would be awesome if something like that was available, but...not at that price! That's like...$478, according to Google. EEK. Like hehoo said, if it was an extra $100 I would totally go for it, if only to have something that would keep me off the ground in case of rain. Assuming the roof bit is actually waterproof like they say.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
Man...I would love one of these for my own permanent use. I bet it would fit perfectly in the back of my Element.
As to it being a better long term, green replacement for tents? I mean the idea is nice but how many tents really get abandoned at 'Roo? Maybe that's more frequent across the pond...I'm sure after the great Glastonbury flood of '05 that there were plenty left behind, but it seems to me that people clear their stuff off the farm pretty well.

when i said i want one earlier. i meant i want to own one. i don't know if i would pay to use it for the weekend, but they would be awesome if you could set them up on site no matter where you are camping. damn they are cool.
