Does anyone know a way - either with iTunes or another program - of creating folders of music on iTunes that can be synched to my iPod...an alternative to artists, albums and songs, if you will?
I don't know why iTunes doesn't let you sort by genre on the iPod b/c that would work. But if, for example, I wanted to create a folder of new music or bands playing at Bonnaroo, other than through playlists - which I hate - I can't figure out how to do it.
There's a genre sort for the iPod. Go into iTunes, and right click on the top row where it says name, time, artist, etc. A whole list of maybe 50 filters will pop up, and select which you want to add. Did you get a Touch? I swear by mine and bring it everywhere!
Aw, thanks. No, I have an older iPod and I'm actually in the process of switching over to a Creative Zen player since I've recently fallen in love with Rhapsody. I had asked that question for a friend, who says that while you can sort by genre in iTunes, it doesn't transfer to the iPod.
