HI Ok so i was just wondering about what people to food wise at roo in general...
if you dont cook your lunch/dinner.. is there enough tasty things in the centeroo that will work or is it like gross theme park food..for breakfast we were plannin on things like granola etc..but then for lunch and dinner we werent crazy about the idea of "cooking" food...ideas?

off the top of my head, there are vendors inside centeroo and in the campgrounds
you can get: pizza phillys falafel arepa chicken kabob corndog fries chicken tenders chinese food fajitas veggie burritos grilled cheese i'm sure there are more tasty treats out there
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

Every discussion about Roo food makes me so hungry. I really can't wait to get back there so I can get some gyros and burritos and frozen lemonades and arepas and AHH everything that I'm missing! The food is great and there's lots of choices. In Centeroo things can be sort of pricey...figure $7 or $8 for anything that could really be a meal. My suggestion would be that if the price of anything seems awfully high, split it. Most people find that in that heat they're not very hungry anyway. One time my friend and I were searching for lunch and we found chicken tenders and fries that were like $8 and we thought it seemed sort of steep so we only got one order for both of us and it was the perfect amount to share.
Some people like to bring everything, some people don't bring much at all, I'd say most people probably do something in the middle. Your plan sounds good and it's a pretty popular strategy - pretty much what I'll be doing. Bring breakfast foods so you won't have to leave your campsite to eat in the morning, and bring plenty of snacks (granola bars or energy bars, fruit cups, oranges, whatever sounds good). That sort of stuff is easily portable so you can grab it while you're at your tent but you can also throw a bunch in your bag to bring into Centeroo.

I know one thing my boyfriend and I really liked was Acai shorbet. They were giving away free samples of it last year. I'm hoping that they're selling it this year because it was so delicious in the hot Tennessee heat.
my favorites are the guy sitting there with a little grill at 4 AM selling grilled chicken burritos stuffed with all kinds of good stuff and you use the frisbee that someone gave you as a plate and think its such a good use for it that you do it all weekend it really was useful

heres what I did in 07, it saved me money and was very practical. bring a backpack into centeroo filled with water containers and food (sealed)
protein energy bars, cans of tuna, beef jerkey, and anything else in that category..i didn't have to pay much for food and snacking consistently left me with much more energy then eating something fried all at once. I think I only ate once from the vendors at centeroo, which leaves more time and money for other things!
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
After the first year, i stopped wasting money and time, (and the extra gas milage) bringing food to make. Yeah, i bring snacks and perishables, but when it comes to meals, i buy it all there. Prices arent that bad, and its sooooo good.
I second that!! Some of the best stuff we ate was from the Greek Food stands....FYI, the one in the campground, near the main gate, was better then the Centeroo stand.
Veggie Burgers! word to the Rookies!!! Do not Bring more Raw meat than you can eat, or just don't bring it at all . i did clean vibes and can you imagine the stench after a few days left in the tenn. heat. it gets pretty nasty. think about the clean vibers!
