click on "profile" up at the top. once you're there, click on "modify profile".
there are places to insert the link to whatever avatar you'd like to use, and you'll have to pick the dimensions(the largest is 100x100). there is also a place to write your sig. then scroll down and click on "modify" and you're good to go.
