Songs we know: CCR- Fortunate Son Lynyrd Skynyrd- Sweet Home Alabama Hendrix- Hey Joe Bob Dylan- Knockin' On Heaven's Door Cream- Sunshine of Your Love, White Room, Crossroads Animals- House of the Rising Son Rolling Stones- Sympathy for the Devil Jefferson Airplane-White Rabbit
Can anyone suggest us some cool songs in this area of the musical spectrum? We're going to be drums, 2 guitar, bass and a singer. Nothing reallly hard though, our drummer just started(after rock band, i think he has it in his blood though his uncle plays hes really good for only a few months of playing).

This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

311-Down, a lot of people cover this, not too difficult, and can give you a totally different stlye, see if you enjoy it Black Sabbath-Sweet Leaf for sure, great song Rage Against the Machine - Bulls on Parade , also not that difficult, just something you gotta get used to playing

"I just got fragged by a non-working speak." 5 Roo's and counting
imo covers help a band get tight and learn structure. the original material will find its way in when you start jammin'. we have a pretty good setlist of covers and are workin' on about 3 original jams that we started. all started while practicing. here's a few we kick out.
mmj - one big holiday (quite the jam) ccr - commotion cream - swlabr clutch - big news 1 & 2 ( help transition to different songs) neil young - hey hey my my (electric) csny - ohio
Add "Freebird" to your repertoire, so that one day you may stun some bastardly heckler.
One of my friends did this while playing a free show at a coffee shop one night. In the middle of a song some jackass from the audience shouted freebird over his strictly acoustic set, and so my friend Sam stopped playing the song and said "freebird, you say? Well... I guess if you guys don't mind me playing the same song for 12 minutes here you go"
and he played it in it's entirely, as much as possible with an acoustic guitar. Although I must admit, his acoustic jam in replace of the actual solo was pretty tight and enjoyable. The guy in the crowd felt like a real arsewipe afterwards too ;D

Ahhh, great songs guys. Will check them out of them. As far as original material, maybe we will one day but right now we're just doing covers because one of the guitarists goes to school in Philly and we live in central Jersey, so he'll only be around for the summer. He's actually not even back yet me and the drummer have been jamming thats about it. So what we're aiming for is to cover a few songs and play at some local bars if we can for shits and giggles. I think we'll make a good band because we've all known each other for years and we all have different influences but share the middle of the Venn Diagram as classic rock influence. One friend is into some weird stuff, one is into some soft emo/acoustic type stuff, the drummer is all classic rock, and I like alot of classic rock and jam band style and acoustic alternative kinda stuff, so we have a great rainbow of talent here.
