I was looking on youtube at bonnaroo videos and stumbled upon this vid.... Just curious what everyone thinks? And did anyone see this happening? Check out the youtube video.
that's the best video i've seen in a long while. wish i was there. at about 3:30 am my legs were about to collapse so i was forced to return to camp and miss the end of sasha & john digweed
That was one of the definitive moments of my life, actually.
Me and Dirty Ernie were in the very front row of Sasha & Digweed during the encore. Spun out, it took us a little bit to migrate from the rail out of The Other Tent after what we'd just experienced - which was Sasha & Dig tearing it the funk up. Dirty had just found a "Why" laminated pass on the ground, and we were walking around kinda paranoid like, "what the fvck should we do with this!"
That's when we walked up to the water trough and saw what was going on. I beat on it for a bit, and though there are a few versions of this video, i've never seen myself or Ernie.
But i do remember at the time thinking, "what's someone going to do, tell us to stop banging on this motherfvcker? Hell no! We are The People's Republic of Bonnaroo!!!!!"
It made me smile so big, and then we went to VIP and took showers for the first time in dayyyys.
This video just makes you feel good, doesn't it? Funny, apparently this was going on at sunrise. I was sound asleep during this, wish I had been there.

I would really be interested in seeing how this all evolved. I wonder if it was just like one guy beating on it to start out and then others gradually joined in until it became what we see in this video?

Like Boots alluded to earlier, the crowd from Sasha & Digweed Was still wide open when they left the other tent and just kinda migrated up the hill. That's the first thing they ran into so they started beating on it.
I'm bummed I missed it. Actually, last year I didn't stay up until sunrise listening to music any of the nights. My friend was pretty exhausted by the end of the day, so we ended up heading back to camp. It wasn't a big deal, but this year we're going with a bigger group so I'm definitely staying up til sunrise!!! And I can't wait!!!! BOOONNNNARRRROOOO!!! ;D

I met a girl at a bar who told me about this video, but this was the first time I have seen it, I think she is the girl in the yellow shirt, since she said you can watch her dancing. Cant see her face though. We might carpool together since we are all leaving from Fort Worth. BONNAROO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was unconscious during that. I had a tough day (heat stroke, then to the GT dance party), so I needed the sleep... no matter how bad I wanted to be up!
Reminds me of late last summer when I was strolling through Central Park with my date of the week. I heard drumming way in the distance, so I decided to follow it. I couldn't believe what I saw. There were no less than 100 people playing all kinds of percussion instruments... anything you can thing of, and plenty of instruments I've never seen before. Anyone who didn't have an instrument was dancing and clapping their hands. I don't know how long it had been going on for, but we were there for a good 45 minutes and it was still going on when we left. The goodness of the vibes was overwhelming.
I was there! It was fantastic. Sasha & Digweed ending at like 6:30 am, and the beat HAD to keep going, so it went on the watershed. ;D
Stumbling back to camp at 7 in the morning was so nice. Did not even mind only getting 2 hours of sleep before that damn ol' Tennessee heat woke me up.
hehe i remember this... the sasha and digweed set was too awesome, they kept it going to the bitter end, it was kinda funny to watch the roadies disassembling everything they could without shutting off the beat. After the show they made an announcement for everyone to pick up bottles, then a couple guys found the branches and the water station...good stuff. Can't wait for Tiesto's "in search of sunrise" set this year
