i'm moving back so i don't know where i'll be living yet.. at first i'll be in Uniondale with my brother, and hopefully i'll find an apartment in Bellmore, East Meadow, or Hicksville.
Well, as some of you know I just moved outside NYC in Jersey, but I am home grown from Riverhead. I still go back home time to time. I must admit, I miss the smell of the salty air off of the sound.
grew up in massapequa for 21 years now live in copiague. first bonnaroo!
Ah I love the names of long island towns/cities, I had a friend from Atlanta pronounce Ronkonkoma as Ron-Con-Coma
When me and my ex would drive by Ronkonkoma, she would call it rock my konkama. The other town name that I love is Speonk just because it sounds like a goose honking.
I gotta admit, even though I'm just a bridge, or 2 away from the island, over here in Jersey, I get jammed on some of those town names. But it goes both ways, b/c my bud in Garden City murders the names of Jersey towns like Mahwah, Ho-Ho-Kus, and Manahawkin....
Little late to the thread, but a NYC transplant from Georgia here...been living in the City off and on (mostly on) since '94 (almost a 3 year break from late summer 94 to early 97, full timer since then). Lived at Union Square for a few months, a year and a half on the Upper East Side, 8 years in BROOKLYN (top o' tha food chain), the last two years in Queens--slowing down a bit, I guess you could say.
We should def find a way to shout out at Roo. Can't wait!!
