I voted for the superjam because I really just don't want to get my hopes up that he'll be here this year. And it seems like the superjam at least covering him is probable so.....

Superjam. I figure if they have the three (Hutz, Claypool, Hammet) together they had to come up with some songs they all know. I bet Waits gets a few and then they do some other stuff (I would LOVE to hear Claypool's "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" live).
I'll be SO HAPPY if Waits goes.......but I have a feeling it's just the superjam rumor. There actually hasn't been any proof/sourced rumor to say Tom will be on the farm. Just a lot of speculation.
^This is how I feel as well, but I refuse to get my hopes up again. I am just going to be happy with what we have. Hopefully we will know before the 17th though so I can decide whether or not to get tickets for a show.

I have absolutely no hope for Waits himself. At least not this year, but probably not ever. The SuperJam leak sounds legit though... and badass... badass and legit.
The only thing that gives me hope for Tom is that last year we had a artist in residence in JPJ his show was essentially the superjam. I really enjoyed the AIR concept someone who could pop up anywhere, because by anybody's standard he is a awesome musician. So if we were to have another AIR I can not see how he or she would commit to covering Waits tunes. Unless it is Scarlett Johansen .

I'm pretty optimistic about the chances for Tom Waits. I dunno if anyone else has made this connection, but Jim Jarmusch was there last year. He has directed Tom in several of his films, and I believe they remain good friends today. Jarmusch had very positive things to say about the fest, and I'm sure he passed those thoughts onto Tom. That fact, combined with the revelation by Eugene Hutz regarding Superjam, and the AC/Tom Waits announcement, make me think it's very likely
