they did say they were going on hiatus..so it may just be the last one for a while. definately putting some thought into going, we will see how the funds are by then
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
good to see the macpodz getting some bigger fests. they have been playing around here for a long time. and it is good stuff.... cornmeal is the poop too. its too bad gratefulfest is the same weekend. oh well atleast cornmeal is at gratefulfest too.
and moe. is just taking fall and winter off. at least thats my impression anyhow.... im guessing they will return at summercamp, or before... and i think moe. down 09 is a pretty safe bet.
"This summer, moe. will embark on one of its biggest summer tours to date. The band intends to spend most of June and July on the road. The tour will begin at Summer Camp and wind down in early August. moe. will finish out the summer at moe.down 9 in Turin, NY.
After moe.down, moe. will not be playing any more shows for some time. The band is taking a break with the intent of returning again in 2009. Summer tour dates will be announced as they are confirmed."

I was thinking about buying early birds for this, now I'm not. going to wait this one out imo this is the worst initial lineup iv seen all summer and thats a hard title to take. I'm sure we will get some big name acts but I've been hearing rumors that moe. didnt want any repeat artists this year which is cool in theory but that knocks out so many good bands. but whatever moe. is playing and its fairly close, we'll see
Anybody care to comment on the overall moe.down experience? I'm really considering buying a ticket because it looks like I won't be making it to Roo or Rothbury this year.
ive heard nothing but good things about moe. down. plus im sure it will be a great show as its the last shows before they take a break. i was gonna go there instead of fall hookahville this year finally. but now they moved gratefulfest to labor day weekend and its the greatest fest out there!! so maybe another year for moe. down. i hate conflicitng fests!!
moe.down is an awesome time. been the last 2 years...the time of year and location typically cause this to be one of the more rain-prone festivals i've been to but last year the weather was amazing...sunny and warm though it did get dusty. in any case, prepare for cold temperatures at night and bring all your tarps and rain gear just in case.
there is a really nice set-up for music...there's a main stage and a tent off to the right side of the stage (al.side for you .rons out there). anyway, there is no music conflict...when the main stage act ends, the side tent act starts, and vice versa. you don't have to walk very far between them either. the slight downside is that there isn't truly a 'late-night' in the larger festival sense of the word...moe. is the last act of the night every night and goes off at 2am or maybe slightly later both friday and saturday and at midnight sunday.
as far as camping goes, there are 2 sides of the venue...on the right side of the main lodge is the family camping area. i've camped on this side both times i went and preferred it to the left side of the lodge which you will notice is drastically different in terms of its camping population. in a nutshell: left side of the lodge is sketchy camping, right side of the lodge is normal camping. it IS fun to go walking through the left side late at night though and take in the sights...most ridiculous nitrous scene i've ever seen at any festival to date.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

something you really have to consider is that moe. is going on hiatus after this years moe.down.
they are taking a break for god knows how long... so i would get some moe. while they're still around. and believe me, they are on fire this tour! :-)
