Ah man there was so much mud and water that year, it was crazy. I bought some like boots at walmart that helped. We were staying in GA and were absolutly filthy, everything we had was too. There were people stuck all over the place. What a mess, but I sure had a great time and that is all that matters, what great memories.
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
The bad part about the mud and rain is that there is NO WHERE to go to get out of it. It is EVERYWHERE!!!! That was the most miserable of all roos, 04 with all the mud.
I can still remember standing out there waiting for The Dead in the rain and mud, feezing my ass off, not moving, thinking it was never gonna stop!
Yeah 2004 was rough, never forget standing in a foot of muck at 3am watching Primus, one of those really good/really bad moments. The springy ground in 2003 was great would love to get that again, but I think that was due to cow poop and prior rains, I doubt they have cows there anymore in off season though. Dancing on the welts at the back of the what stage is a great memory, they had about a foot of give, so cool.
Wow...that' was really a rough year. I wonder how many cars got stuck. In headinlot's 3rd picture you can see the third car is getting pushed out because it's stuck.
The good news is Superfly stated the only changes they were able to make for this year, as a result of owning the land, was some grading work to help with drainage. If I heard that right. May make it a little less painful.

Yeah, if it's gotta be one way or the other... given the choice, dust all the way for me! Never did Roo in the floods, but living in the nasty WS'94 swamp was more than enough mud to last me my entire life
I really don't understand the folks who choose mud over dust. To beat dust, you wear a dustmask. You don't have to avoid any huge gaping "dust" puddles. You may be covered in "dust" when you get back to camp but you can just "dust" yourself off and go to bed, instead of having to wipe down with wetwipes for a half hour before getting in your tent.
Thats the only year I've been. Should I be expecting something worse?
I would come prepared for both! You never know here in TN what the weather is going to do, especially in the summer.
I am predicting a muddy roo, we havent had on in a while and we are due.
Definitely pack for wet muddy weather, dusty dry weather, cool nights and HOT HOT HOT days.....
I believe we're due for either an earthquake followed by a tsunami or a meteor impact this year, so I'll be strapping myself to my air mattress at night as a precaution.
