I'm new to Bonnaroo and am driving down from Saskatchewan (1,723 miles) so I have no idea what the site/area is like. We drove down to Coachella last year (1,750 miles) and were able to Rollerblade from the festival site for a bit of a break (and flush-able toilets!). It was great, and I'm wondering what the area around Bonnaroo is like. How far of a walk would it be to local businesses?
I'm really excited and looking forward to hearing some responses to this.

Wow Saskatchewan? That's pretty impressive that you would come all the way from there to see Bonnaroo. I promise you won't be disappointed...
I never really checked the area around Bonnaroo too much, but pretty much right outside the gates is the interstate. That's been known to cause some problems over the years...some tripping people are known to leave on foot and end up walking across the interstate. But I don't think it's too far of a walk, maybe 5-6 miles...if that. In that walk you can reach all sorts of gas stations, convenience stores, and hotels. Mainly Wal-Mart is a close walk, which is where mostly everyone meets at for pre-bonnaroo.
Last year a guy got killed on I24 when he stumbled in front of Ricky Skaggs tour bus and it hit him.
You CAN leave on foot, but there isnt really a great place to go rollerblading. You could walk to walmart but that would be a pretty long hike cause you would have to go around. You couldnt go through VIP (Unless your VIP).
Good luck on that! You best bet would be to walk down bushy branch road and turn off on one of the back roads to get away from it all, but you wont be roller blading on those roads.
Do you know what a "tar and chip" road is? That is what all of these roads back here are like.
Thanks for your help! I googled "tar and chip road" and I don't think I'll be Rollerblading on that, might be a bit tricky. Also, I promise to be careful if I end up crossing the Interstate.
Off topic question, are there many Canadians that make the trip down to the festival? Last year at Coachella it seemed like there were tons of us!

Far be it from me to correct a moderator, but the Ricky Skaggs was in 06. I had to say it or the international society of pedants would kick me out.
