So I recently came into a little bit of money
I have seriously hated my breasts since I was a teenager and would love to have them reduced and lifted. Right now, I am 120lb and a 34DD...... I can't wear cute sundresses or bathing suits, and I certainly can't go anywhere with no bra. I have to wear really ugly supportive bras which cost a fortune. Even though I have lost 18lbs recently, I still felt like I looked huge in my wedding dress at my last fitting because my breasts are so overwhelming compared to the rest of me.
My fiance (very soon to be husband) supports me totally whatever I decide, but I am not doing it for him, I am doing it for me.
Does anyone have any experience with this or advice? I don't know anyone who has had this surgery. I am seriously considering having it done.

I think that as long as you're doing it for the right reasons, then you should go for it! And doing it for yourself, is the best reason that there is.
My close friend is actually having this surgery in the fall, and I have discussed it with her, and the recovery time isn't that bad. It's not as inactive as you'd think - - just not much lifting, pulling, etc etc for quite awhile.
I think it'll be well worth it, if you go through with it. :]

I had an old girlfriend who went through the reduction. Similar size, but on a 5-2 body. She was having back problems in High School. This is from my sister.....
The note on the message- which one are you? hehe
I'm not telling either! Let's just say the idiots are smiling~

Haha that is funny! I am only 5 ft 4 so not much taller. And I am older, so this is not something I am thinking about on a whim. I am just able to finally afford it financially, so am seriously thinking about it.

I think that everyone should have the option of being able to change things about themselves that they dislike. If this is something that you have thought of for years, go for it.
Though make sure you go to a "top notch" surgeon for the work. You do get what you pay for in the cosmetic work.
My wife's cousin when the opposite direction - just does not look right on her frame. She was comparing herself to the women of the family - 1 generation older and all having children.
The desire to wear certain styles of clothes sounds like you have an image of what you want to look like. If you are happy with your appearance, your relationships with others should be better.
Good luck, hopefully get to meet you at roo in a month.
I was scheduled for a reduction, but I backed out. The plan is to have another child, nurse it, and then have the reduction. It is extremely difficult to breastfeed after a reduction because all the montgomery and mammary glands/tissues/tubules are severed. Yeah, my 34DDs are starting to kill me, but I think that breastfeeding an infant is more important. (I'm one of those "Formula is poison" types)

^^^ That sounds like a smart plan. I am done having kids so I don't need to worry about that thankfully.
Cher if you don't mind me asking, what kind of price range was it going to be? If you want to PM the info that would be cool. I haven't actually spoken to a doctor yet so I have no clue of the cost.
i had a friend in college that did it. she was only about 21 when she had it done. She's never been happier, she can run and play more tennis and stuff now.

It was going to be around $7,000 (two years ago) but that was with overnight hospitalization (which was optional). My insurance was going to pick up the whole thing.
Sucks that it is more expensive for a reduction than flippin' implants.
Good luck!

I have a friend who had a reduction, lift and partial implant to correct assymetry. She had some complications, but I really believe it's because she tried to cut corners by selecting the least expensive physician. If it's going to make you more comfortable and give you mobility, I say do it...and best of luck!

Wow I can't believe insurance would cover all of it..... I am definitely going to look into it.
Thanks all for being so supportive and helpful. My friends think I am being silly and say that would most women would kill for my body - because I am a size 4 with 34DD breasts - and I understand that, but I hate how they look and how I look in clothes and I am not comfortable.
Oh yes, insurance will cover it in most cases (I used to be a consultant).
What's important is that YOU feel comfortable, not what anyone else says or thinks...you know that. You can always pad up if necessary!
That is interesting. I would have thought in most cases insurance would not cover it unless it was medically necessary. Is there anything I should know to say before I see a doctor to strengthen my case? I do have quite a bit of shoulder and neck pain but is that enough?
"I heard she got breast reduction surgery." "What? That's like slapping God across the face for giving you a beautiful gift." "She had back problems, man."
