yeah, get there early though, an hour early probably wont get you front row but you will be close. You can always get a good spot and take a nap right by the stage.
You might get lucky. Those of us who passed on The Police in 07 to get a spot for The Flaming Lips were treated to a "soundcheck". A full hour before the Lips were due on they came out and did a killer version of War Pigs. Bearing in mind that no-one gets sound checks at festivals, Wayne was just having some fun, but it was a real treat.
EDIT:...or was it Tool I passed on? Might be getting my nights confused.

It wsa The Police - cuz I was there for all of Tool and I clearly remember the soundcheck for Flips and I know I left 1/2 way through The Police because they sucked
Yeah and by the time the Lips were to start, the damn Which stage was OVERCROWDED!!! I swear that flips show was hands down the most crowded I have ever seen the which stage.
We ended up leaving about 15 minutes in and went to Mule cause we couldnt see sh!t from the middle of the masses....
anyway, if you dont want to see the headliner, go on over to the tent when the h/l starts, you should be able to get right up front!

It's quite possible to see the full headlining set and get great spots for the night shows. Last year, I was about 5th row for all of Tool's set and made it to the 2nd row for Superjam, without any running or pushing involved; I even stopped at a bathroom en route. The next night, I was literally on the barricade for The Police, saw the full set, then strolled over and got literally on the barricade for Galactic and Friends, even having time to grab some chicken from a vender and sharing it with the crowd.
