Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I have a section of my basement dedicated to all things Bonnaroo. Every time I buy something new, I walk it down so I'm not running around at the last minute trying to get organized. I also updated our packing list as soon as we got back last year...took off things we didn't use, added things that would have been nice to have. We're ready!
What I have going now is a mental pile- a somewhat thought out list of things I need to get and things I already have. The pile changes everyday and is thought about and manipulated probably more often than anybodys physical pile is either added to or redistributed. I'll say one thing for the mental pile its a lot easier on your back but doesn't quite give you that same sense of satisfaction as a true pile does.
I have a camping gear storage area in an outside storage room which soon enough will be gone through and turned into a bonnaplie.......the excitment grows.......maybe its time I bought my ticket.....
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."
i kinda miss having a bonnaroo pile. the people i'm going with this year are providing all the camping gear. everything i need to bring fits into a large duffel bag.
I guess I have one in my spare room under the bed. It has my tent, easy-up, camping chairs and flag. I'm going to have to get the tent out soon to clean it out, hopefully it's not too gross.

I did this too! It was helpful as I've been getting ready this year I check out the Bonnaroo spreadsheet once a week and update it with the things that have been purchased. At this point, the only things my Bonnapile lacks are food and beer
I have a list, and my plan was to buy a few things from it every week when I went grocery shopping, but that just hasn't happened. I'm sure I will be doing last minute shopping on Wednesday morning...I will have to work that day and go to class that night, then we're leaving as soon as I get home, so it will surely be a crazy day

Any chance one or both of you could list the stuff you are bringing this year? It's my first time to Bonnaroo and most of the lists of "necessaries" in this forum are seven pages long and I know I wouldn't use half of it. Since you guys have a maintained list of things that you know you will use, it might help me gather the appropriate level of junk!

I am bringing a lot more this year than last year...but last year it was efficient - I am just making it more comfy this year. Last year's
gear: Tent Air Mattress & pump ez up tent Light Blanket (2x) (glad I brought 2...one got wet when I didn't secure my tent well enough and it would have been miserable without one!) cooler w/ frozen bottles charcoal grill + charcoal Pillow tapestry (we bought it at the roo) permanent marker personal mister flashlight boom box a crapload of batteries
food: hot dogs marinated chix breasts shitload of trailmix granola bars red bull 3 - 30 packs of beer frozen gatorade (best idea ever) frozen bottles of water 4 one gallon jugs of water jar of pretzels huge bag of dried fruit
Other stuff: toilet paper (baby) wipes (like 10 packs!) sunscreen (3 spray bottles - they gave some regular 30spf sunblock out at the roo) little backpack toothbrush + toothpaste scrunchies hair gel (my hair get uber frizzy if wet!) bubbles!
clothes: 3x shorts 3x dresses 7 or 8 tanks 2x flip flops hoodie long pants sneakers 2x socks underwear
I'll add stuff if I remember it...but I think that was pretty much it!
I was a swimmer for many years and these things are the best.
Say you have a towel and you go to the POD and get all nice and clean. you dry off with your towel and now the towel is all wet. So when you get back to your "home" you hang it on the roof of your tent or of the side of your EZ-up to dry. Then you remember there is a band you want to see at noon. So you run over to Centeroo and while your there it rains rains and rains and rains. You get back home to find your sopping wet towel.
Now the chamois are great and they come in these little plastic cylinders for storage. They work like a towel and all you have to do when you are done using it is wring it out and put it back in its case. They are pretty much dry after you wring them out.
Another bonus is they take up a tiny amount of space.

I have a mental list for over a week now that I haven't been able to shake from my brain!!! And for a week now my boyfriend has been telling me to not spend money until 'Roo (he can see my thoughts)!!!! I'm gonna break soon and start a pile! AHHHHHHHH
i'm so excited! as first-timers, i started an extensive list about a month ago made from taking notes while lurking here at inforoo. its all arranged in a spreadsheet so i know hat has been bought as we add to the pile and what's still needed. just call me the official bonnanerd. tix are a surprise for my 13yo daughter on her birthday next monday, so for now our pile is secret, in the closet, the bonnadrawer. i have been picking stuff up here and there to kind of spread the cost out. so far we have
an 8x10 tarp three cheap bucket hats from dollar general as backup hats a huge jug of bubbles and a 25 hubble wand pack 2 bottles of spf 40 a solar shower ($6 @wally world) giant pump bottle of hand sani and baby bottle of sani to be refilled and brought to centeroo toothpaste (was buying some for the house and it was bogo, i dont think we will want out roopaste back at home. ew.) camping mallet for stake smashing rainbow bandaids neosporin baby wipes to try out with minimal scent - if goo di will go back and get like 5 more four pack of neon mesh drawstring bags for clutter, junk, or something that will inevitably get nasty
the coleman sleepy owl tent is on order and will be here next week. our folding table, footstool (in tent table), and camp chairs and cooler are in the garage
and we bought two canopy things from wally. going to set them both up and test them out probably tomorrow and see which one is easiest to set up and sturdiest (like where can it be additionally staked down)
someone said packing stuff in rubbermaid type tubs is cool so tomorrow i am going to clean them out and have a few ready.
i am so stupid excited i think i am finally starting to drive husband insane. hehe. well as soon as chicky gets her present (sleeping bag with printout of lineup so i can say "your'e going to rooo!!") i will have her to obsess over packing and details with.
i think that now that i am out of lurkdom here i will have some questions as i tighten up my list and my roopil gets bigger and bigger, but i am betting there is another thread for that.
every year i get lighter and lighter.. after having done a lot of smaller festivals this past year I'm pretty lean on what I know I need. This year everything will fit on my back or it won't go. I need shelter and clothing.. thats it. rest can be purchased.
