i was thinkin bout buyin some solar LED lights from wal mart, would these be a some good to have at the campsite? or just a hassle?
There have been a couple threads on this subject and all who have tried them say, why bother. The ones I used last year were very dim and I paid a fair amount for them. What I plan to use is this.
I just plug my regular string lights into this and recharge it each night with my EU3000 generator. I have a timer switch that turns on the lights at dusk. Just an idea to roll around.
I have some solar powered lights that I bought on ebay and they have been working fine since I got them. They are plenty bright and also have a chase mode.
That is a portable power unit. It has ac and dc plug-ins. It's basically a car battery with an inverter built in. The charge will last awhile depending on what you are running. It can be charged back up with a generator or your car. Some have radios built in or lights. I don't like to run the generator all the time, so this takes over powering my string lights and boom box. Here are a few good ones through Amazon. www.amazon.com/Xantrex-Powerpack-Jumpstarter-Inverter-Backup/dp/B000E6LEIC/ref=pd_bbs_5?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1211432070&sr=8-5

Can you tell me the brand name on them? I've seen good ones and bad ones and unfortunately, you can't tell until you've bought t hem.
